NCERT Delhi CEE-2019 online applications for RIE Teacher Education Programs admissions

Want to take admissions to a graduate or post-graduate B.Ed. course in India? You can seek admission to various graduate and postgraduate teacher education programs at a Regional Institute of Education (RIE) in India after appearing for the 2019 Common Entrance Exam (CEE-2019) for getting admission to the programs. This article provides the schedule of NCERT CEE-2019 and online application procedure.

The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), New Delhi has issued the notification for online registrations and applications for admission into various Teacher Education programs at eight institutes of education across India which are constituent units of NCERT. These institutes are located at New Delhi, Ajmer, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Mysore, and Shillong (the addresses and contact details of each are provided at the end of this article).

List of programs and Eligibility requirements

B.Sc. B.Ed. course

This is a four-year program for which you can apply if you have passed the +2 exam Science with a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate. You should have either the subject combination of (a) Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry or (b) Biology, Physics and Chemistry at the +2 level.

B.A. B.Ed. course

This is a four-year program for which you can apply if you have passed the +2 exam in Arts/Science/Commerce stream with a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate. Candidates who have passed in the +3 Degree exam in Science / Arts with at least 50% marks in the aggregate are also eligible for this course.

B.Ed. course

This is a two-year course. You should have passed the +3 Degree exam in Science / Arts with at least 50% marks in the aggregate. Those applying for B.Ed. Science stream should have studied the subjects in any one of the following combinations at the +3 level: Phy. Sc. & Mathematics (PM); Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics; Phy.Sc. & Bio. Sc. (PB); Chemistry, Botany and Zoology. Those applying for B.Ed. Arts stream should have studied at least one school subject each from these with one of them as an elective at +3 Arts: (a) English, Hindi, Oriya, and Bengali; (b) History, Geography, Political Science and Economics.

M.Ed. course

This is a two-year course. You should have a Post Graduate Degree in Science/Arts with a minimum of 50% marks in the aggregate. Additionally, you should have a B.Ed. with 50% marks in the aggregate or B.Sc.B.Ed./B.A.B.Ed. with 50% marks in the aggregate and in the Education component. Those who have passed in the +3 Degree exam in Science / Arts with at least 50% marks in the aggregate can also apply.

M.Sc.Ed. course

This is a six-year course. You should have passed the +2 exam qualifying examination with the following combinations of subjects - Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics/ Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, and any other subject.

B.Ed. M.Ed. course

This is an integrated course of three-years' duration. To be eligible for the course, you should have a Postgraduate degree in Science/Social Science/Humanities with a minimum of 55% marks.

Important Note: At each of the Regional Institutes of Education (RIE), there may be additional criteria for admissions to a course, such as applications being accepted only from candidates of specific States. Additionally, each course may require specific subject combinations to have been taken up at the Higher Secondary/Senior Secondary level. Hence, it is advisable to check the individual institute's website and go through the criteria for admissions for the course for which you will apply. There is a relaxation of 5% for minimum marks' requirement for reserved category candidates.

How to apply

You must fill up the online application which will be available at the official NCERT CEE-20019 admissions portal from 12th April 2019 onward. The Common Entrance Exam (CEE) will be conducted at various centers in India and the list of the centers will be uploaded at the official website.

  2. Online registration and submission of applications ends: 12th May 2019.

  3. Downloading Admit Card begins: 20th May 2019.

  4. Downloading Admit Card ends: 8th June 2019.

  5. Date of Common Entrance Examination-2019: 9th June 2019.

  6. Last date for submitting the Qualifying Exam Marks for Applicants of B.Sc.B.Ed. (4-year), B.A.B.Ed. (4-year) and M.Sc.Ed. (6-year) programs: 20th June 2019.

  7. Last date for submitting the Qualifying Exam Marks for Applicants of B.Ed., B.Ed.M.Ed. Integrated (3-year) and M.Ed. programs: 8th July 2019.

  8. CEE-2019 Result Declaration for B.Sc. B.Ed. (4-year), B.A.B.Ed. (4-year) and M.Sc.Ed. (6-year) programs: 10th July 2019.

  9. CEE-2019 Result Declaration for B.Ed., B.Ed.M.Ed. Integrated (3-year) and M.Ed. programs: 20th July 2019.

Is it compulsory to pass both PG and B.Ed to get admission in M.Ed?

Yes, Rakhi. As per the eligibility requirements, you do need to pass with a minimum score of 50% in both, the postgraduate exam, as well as the B.Ed. exam to apply for admission to the M.Ed. course.

No, it is not necessary to have a Master's degree to apply for admissions in the 5 RIE's for all the courses. You can apply for the M.Ed. course in RIE's after your UG and B.Ed.
