Are you looking for a job oriented university course? Learn more about the Fire and Safety Engineering Course which has a lot of job opportunities after completing the course. Check out more details of Fire & Safety Engineering course in India.

Be it forest fire or a building catching fire, there is no day without a mention of at least one fire incident. It is one of the most dreadful hazards. And people become helpless if something happens. The most one fears about is their home burning down, with all the precious belongings. We always wonder about the ways to prevent fire.

It is very necessary for one to understand the importance of this matter. Fire safety is something everyone should know about. Accounting for fire safety has become imperative because there is no escape to it.

The urgency to tackle this adversity has increased. Because of this, there are now specialized courses on fire and safety. Which deals with all the important aspects needed to handle this problem.

Fire and Safety Engineering

There are B.Tech courses in Fire and Safety engineering. It is one of the most arduous courses and deals with fire safety and measures. They protect people from detrimental and annihilatory effects of fire and smoke. Fire & safety engineering involves identifying the methods to palliate the aftermath of the fire.
Fire engineering involves dealing with:
1. Methods of fire detection, including alarms systems
2. Controlling of smoke
3. The emergency exists, fire lifts and other escape facilities
4. They also help in building designing. So as to build a safe building
5. Wildfire management

Why do we need fire & safety engineers? Why are firefighters not enough? Every possible step to avoid fire should be done. No matter how many multiple professionals it requires. Fire is something which causes adverse effects on people and the environment.

This is an emerging field and only some colleges offer a course in Fire & Safety. One such institute is University of Petroleum and Energy Sciences (UPES). They offer an undergraduate degree in Fire & Safety (B.Tech).

This programme endow the students with

  • Various ways through which the concepts of engineering can be applied to prevent fire.

  • It educates students with the science of designing buildings that promotes fire safety and property protection.

  • Finding ways to conserve natural resources and protecting the environment.

  • The placements and scope of this course are really high. One can work as a Fire & Safety Manager, Fire Risk Assessor, Fire Prevention Engineer, Research Scientist, and Fire and safety officer.

The most recent example of a fire catastrophe is the California fire incident. To avoid events like this in the coming future we require fire and safety engineers more than anything else.

A fire engineer helps people and the environment in so many ways. And it is very necessary especially now because one more forest fire can lead to severe climate change. If some measures are not taken now, the day is not very far when one has to wear an oxygen mask. And fear about forest fires.

From NASA to builders to architects to environmentalists, everyone needs help from a fire safety engineer. They are the ones with knowledge about safety and how to deal with a situation like this. They can help in solving the problems of forest fires and building catching fire. If the fire engineers keep up the good work, soon the buildings are going to be fireproof.

Safety is the vital parameter in almost all the organizations be it a small or big industry apart from its existence in the Hospitals, Railways, Housing - complexes and so on. Unfortunately, in almost all the sectors, we lack specialists in managing the safety - affair. We need trained professionals having the technical know hi of safety and fire engineering to understand the basic mechanism of Fire and Safety. The fire engineer is conversant with the different safety aspects to be employed in the hours of needs. Safety exits must remain in operation so that it can be used conveniently in case of need. An aspirant undergoing the B.Tech course in Safety and Fire engineering can guide in a much better way in the different safety aspects and hence the deployment of such a person in the sensitive-prone areas would promote the protection of the entire establishment with their able expertise.

The author has touched upon the very vital issue with the provision of all the relevant inputs required in this area. With all such basic inputs, the organizations would take up immediate steps to recruit B.Tech Engineers having finished the course of Safety and Fire Engineering with the eminent institutions.

Nice information on the course related to fire and safety. I remember there was a time when we thought that engineering is only something related to mechanical or electrical or chemical or architecture or information technology. We never heard of things like safety, occupational health, fire hazards, and other precautionary fields. With time, the importance of these sidelined but important courses emerged significantly and today there are full-time engineering courses in these streams.

It will be prudent that the students who have a liking and interest in this line should take advantage of these opportunities to get qualified in the line and then apply for jobs in the industry. There is a good demand of safety persons in every industry and with the vertical development in the cities and metros, skyscrapers are coming up everywhere and the basic need there is safety and protection from unforeseen fire hazards. I think it is a good career line and there are exciting job opportunities in the coming times.
