Kannur University was established in the year 1996 with an aim for providing higher education in districts like Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod. This university has campuses located at places like Palayad, Kasaragod, Payyannur, Nileshwaram and Mananthavady. Now the Department of Molecular Biology which was established in the year 2008 at P.K. Rajan Memorial Campus in Nileshwaram invites applications from eligible candidates for the M.Sc Molecular Biology 2019 admission. The course is offered under the Choice Based Credit and Semester System with a duration of 2 years. Altogether there will be 16 seats. Eligibility

Candidates with a B.Sc degree with minimum 50% marks or equivalent grade in core course, in any branch of Life Sciences (Zoology, Botany, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Genetics, Laboratory Technology or equivalent), Chemical, Medical, Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences are eligible to apply for this 4 semester program. There will be mark relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/OEC candidates. Those who are awaiting their final semester results are also eligible to apply.

Selection process

The candidates will be selected based on their performance at an Entrance test that will be held in May. The test consists of questions from Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Cell Biology, Genetics, Biochemistry, Botany, Zoology and related areas at the undergraduate level.

From Nileshwar Bus stand, you can reach P.K. Rajan Memorial Campus in a car by traveling via Malom - Eleritattu - Nileshwar Rd/Odayanchal - Cherupuzha Major District Rd. It takes only 10 minutes to cover that 5 km. There is an alternate route also. If you are preferring to travel by car from Nileshwar railway station, then go via Nileshwaram – Edathode Rd and Malom - Eleritattu - Nileshwar Rd/Odayanchal - Cherupuzha Major District Rd. For this route also, only 10 minutes is needed.
