How to apply for Senior Residents / Senior Demonstrators(July 2019 session) at AIIMS, New Delhi

All India Institute of Medical Science, popularly known as AIIMS New Delhi is recruiting eligible candidates for Senior Residents / Senior Demonstrators posts for July 2019 session. As part of the recruitment, they are conducting a competitive examination stage 1. The candidates can serve for a maximum period of 3 years. For the post of Senior Residents/Senior Demonstrators in the department of Biochemistry, Anatomy, & Biophysics, both Medical as well as Non-Medical candidates can apply. But for other departments (except Medical Physics) only medical candidates can apply while for the post of Senior Demonstrators in Medical Physics, only non-medical candidates can apply.

Eligibility

For Medical Candidates (Senior Residents)

Candidates with a postgraduate medical degree like MD/MS/MDS/DNB in the respective discipline from a recognized University are eligible to apply here.
  1. Emergency Medicine & Casualty : Candidates with a postgraduate medical degree like MD (Geriatric Medicine) or MD (Medicine) or MD (Emergency Medicine) or qualification recognized equivalent in the discipline/subject are eligible to apply here
  2. Geriatric Medicine : Those having a postgraduate medical degree like MD/DNB in Geriatric Medicine failing which MD/DNB in Medicine from a recognized university can apply here.
  3. Plastic Surgery & Reconstructive Surgery: Candidates with a M.S./DNB Degree in Surgery/Orthopedics/ENT from any University recognized by MCI are eligible to apply here
  4. Palliative Medicine : Candidates with a postgraduate medical degree like MD/DNB in Palliative Medicine/ Anesthesiology / Medicine / Oncology(Surgical) /Geriatrics Medicine/ Medical/ Radiation) can apply for this program
  5. Pulmonary Medicine : Those with a postgraduate medical degree like MD in Medicine, MD Pulmonary Medicine, MD Respiratory Medicine, MD Chest Medicine from a recognized University/Institute can apply here
  6. Critical & Intensive Care : Those having a MD/DNB degree in Anesthesiology or DM/DNB Degree in Critical Care Medicine from any University recognized by MCI can apply for this program
  7. Lab. Medicine: Candidates with a postgraduate medical degree like MD in Laboratory Medicine /Microbiology/ Pathology / Biochemistry from a recognized University/Institute can apply for this program

For Non-Medical Candidates (Senior Demonstrators)

  1. For subjects of Biophysics, Anatomy, & Biochemistry(both medical as well as non-medical candidates can apply) :
    • M.Sc./M. Biotech. Degree in the concerned subject
    • Ph.D. in the subject concerned/allied subject from a recognized University/Institute
  2. For the posts of Senior Demonstrators in Medical Physics: Candidates with a M.Sc. in Medical Physics with one-year experience OR its equivalent recognized qualification OR M.Sc. in Physics with Diploma in Radiological Physics can apply for this program

Application fees

Persons with bench-mark disabilities [PWBD] candidates are exempted from any types of fees,
  • General/OBC/EWS category : Rs.1500/- +transaction charges as applicable
  • SC/ST category : Rs.1200/- +transaction charges as applicable

Selection process

As I already mentioned, there will be a competitive examination stage 1, which will be conducted in online (CBT) mode. Only qualified candidates from the written test will be called for an Interview that carries 20 marks. SC/ST/OBC/UR/EWS category merit list will be prepared on the basis of combined marks of the online test as well as an interview.

Where to get admit cards?

The admit cards of eligible candidates will be uploaded only on the AIIMS website. In case If your registration form or admit card status is not available on the official website, then you should immediately write an email through registered email(aiims.srsdexams@gmail.com) to the
below address along with the candidate's name, exam/test, subject applied, candidate ID and specific query/clarification.

OBC Category certificates

If you are applying under OBC category, then you must possess a valid caste certificate that was issued within last one year by the competent authority & before the date of Interview. In addition, the certificate must be valid for admission in Central Government Institution.

Upper age limit as on 31 July 2019

The upper age limit for applying these posts is 37 years as on 31.07.2019. The maximum permissible relaxations are:
  1. SC/ST candidates - 5 years
  2. OBC candidates -3 years
  3. Persons with bench-mark disabilities [PWBD] General category -10 years
  4. Persons with bench-mark disabilities [PWBD] SC/ST category -15 years
  5. Persons with bench-mark disabilities [PWBD] OBC category -13 years

The upper age limit for applying for the post of Senior Resident in Department of Hospital Administration is 40 years. The maximum permissible relaxations are:
  1. SC/ST candidates - 5 years
  2. OBC candidates -3 years
  3. Persons with bench-mark disabilities [PWBD] General category -10 years
  4. Persons with bench-mark disabilities [PWBD] SC/ST category -15 years
  5. Persons with bench-mark disabilities [PWBD] OBC category -13 years

Regarding Test

The Online (CBT) Recruitment Test will be conducted in one shift. This Competitive Entrance Examination will have one paper in the English language that consists of 80 Objective Type (Multiple Choice type) questions. The recruitment test for SR/SD will consist of multiple choice questions covering the concerned specialty. Each correct response will get a score of 1 mark. There won't be any negative marking.
