Indian Institute of Mass Communication, also known as IIMC, was established in the year 1965. IIMC's primary campus is in Delhi and it has regional campuses in Kottayam (Kerala state), Jammu (J & K), Dhenkanal (Odisha), Aizawl (Mizoram) and Amravati (Maharashtra). Eligibility

Indian nationals who possess a Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university are eligible to apply for the P.G.Diploma courses conducted by IIMC. Those who have appeared/are appearing for a final degree examination are also eligible to apply for those courses.

Date of birth

For General category candidates, the date of birth should be 1st August 1994 or later while for the SC/ST/Physically Challenged candidates, the date of birth should be on 1st August 1989 or later. The OBC category candidates should be born on 1st August 1991 or later.

Is there any NRI quota?

Yes, there will be 5 additional seats available in each course for NRI/NRI-sponsored candidates. Their eligibility and age limit are the same as above.

Selection process

  • Non- NRI candidates: Non-NRI quota candidates applying for the PG Diploma Courses will be selected based on essential qualification, merit based on the Written test followed by Group Discussion and Interview. The dates of the written test are mentioned below
  • NRI / NRI sponsored quota candidates: If you are applying under NRI / NRI sponsored quota, then you are not required to appear for the written examination. Instead, you can directly participate in the Group Discussion and Interview by depositing an entry fee of US $50.

Entrance examination fees

  • General category: Rs 1500/- for each course
  • OBC / SC/ST/PH/EWS category: Rs 1000/-

The fees can be paid through the payment gateway link provided on www.iimc.gov.in.

How to apply?

Candidates can apply online at www.iimc.gov.in by filling up the correct application form. After submitting your application successfully, you will receive a unique registration number that can be used for accessing and downloading the admit card. You can apply for multiple courses. Please check the official website to know the details if applying for multiple courses.
