National Institute of Plant Genome Research (NIPGR) is an autonomous institution which was aided by the department of biotechnology, Government of India. This institute is one of the major contributors to plant genomics. The Institute has been established to coincide with the birth anniversary of Prof. (Dr.) J. C. Bose as well as the 50th anniversary of India's independence. This institute launches Ph.D. programme every year as a long term training programme, in addition to the short term programmes.
National Institute of Plant Genome Research has announced admissions into Ph.D. Programme for 2019-2020. This Ph.D programme is a full time programme which includes advanced research in the areas of Plant Biology such as Genome Analysis and Molecular Mapping, Computational Biology, Molecular Mechanism of Abiotic Stress Responses, Plant Development and Architecture, Nutritional Genomics, Plant Immunity, Molecular Breeding, Transgenics for Crop improvement, and other emerging areas based on plant genomics. This Ph.D. programme is affiliated to the Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. NIPGR will provide hostel accommodation to selected candidates

Candidates have to fulfill the following eligibility criteria to pursue a Ph.D. programme in National Institute of Plant Genome Research (NIPGR):
Selection is done based on the candidate's performance in the entrance exam and interview or viva-voce. Candidates who have secured minimum qualified marks in the entrance examination will be shortlisted for interview/ viva-voce.
Interested and Eligible candidates are requested to apply online through website http://www.nipgr.ac.in from 22nd April. The last date to apply is 29th May. Application Fees is Rs.100/-(for ST/SC should enclose related documentary proof with application form) and Rs.300/-(for all others).
The applicants must first register and then fill the admission form and submit through online itself along with the required documents uploaded in the given format and online payment through SBI Collect. After uploading the documents you will get Form Preview option, you have to save or print the form for further reference.
