About BARC

Dr. Homi Jehangir Bhabha has established the Atomic Energy Establishment, Trombay (AEET) in the year 1954 and after his demise in 1966, AEET was renamed as Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC). It is a premier multidisciplinary nuclear research centre of India. It provides an excellent infrastructure for advanced research and development of Nuclear Science and Engineering and related areas.

Admissions 2019

Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), Mumbai has announced admissions into the Diploma in Radiological Physics - One-year post-M.Sc. programme for the academic year 2019 - 20. Radiological Physics and Advisory Division (RP&AD) of Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) is conducting the Diploma in Radiological Physics (Dip.R.P.) course from 1962. The course affiliated to University of Mumbai, is conducted under the aegis of Homi Bhabha National Institute(HBNI), Mumbai. The total allocated seats for this course is 30 in which 25 is for non sponsored candidates and remaining 5 for sponsored candidates from the government institution.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates have to fulfill the following eligibility criteria in order to get admission for this programme:
  • Candidates who have passed M.Sc. (Physics) with minimum 60% marks.
  • Candidates who have passed B.Sc (Physics as the main subject) with 60% marks.
  • Sponsored candidates should have at least one-year working experience in the Radiotherapy Department of Government Institution in India.
  • Candidates who wait for final results of M.Sc.(Physics) may also apply. They should attach copies of the mark sheets of B.Sc. Degree and a copy of M.Sc. first year mark sheets along with the application form.
  • The upper age limit as on August 01 2019 for General Category - 26 years, SC/ST - 31 Years, OBC - 29 years, Sponsored candidates- 40 years and Physically challenged candidates age relaxation up to 10 years.

Selection process

The selection process for non-sponsored candidates is based on the written test and interview. The Common Entrance Test (CET) will be held on 23rd June 2019 from 11:00 AM onward at New Training School Complex, Anushaktinagar, Mumbai – 400 094. Admit card will be produced on 05.06.2019, Candidates are requested to print admit card using their login details. The result of CET will be declared by 06.00 PM. on the same day. The exam will be 2 hours duration which is based on multiple choice questions with negative marking for incorrect answers. Qualified candidates of CET will be interviewed from 24th June 2019 to 26th June 2019 at 10:00 AM onward at New Training School Complex, Anushaktinagar, Mumbai – 400 094. Selection of sponsored candidates will be done directly through an interview based on eligibility. For non-sponsored candidates travelling allowance will be provided for the entrance exam and also they are eligible for a stipend of Rs. 25,000/- per month for a period of one year after admission into the course.

Application Procedure

Interested and eligible candidates are requested to apply online through the website "www.recruit.barc.gov.in" from 26th April 2019. The last date for submission of application is 25th May 2019. The application processing fee is Rs. 500/- which should be submitted through online payment only and for ST/SC, DODPKIA, Female and physically challenged candidates there won't be no application fee. The application fee should be made after the submission of online application as it requires application number which will be generated during submission of application.
