About RCBRegional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB), Faridabad is established by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India with global and regional partnerships. The primary role of RCB is to provide world-class education, training and to conduct innovative research at the interface of multiple disciplines to create a high-quality human resource in disciplinary as well as multidisciplinary areas of biotechnology. In 2016, RCB has been recognized as an Institute of National Importance by the parliament of India. Research-based learning is the hallmark of the RCB program. This centre is for generating technology savvy solution finders, knowledge economy entrepreneurs, and research and development leaders. The centre aims to provide education and training in the biotech sciences at the Doctoral, Predoctoral, and Post-doctoral levels. There are various programs provided by this centre such as Young Investigator programme, Ph.D programme, Ph.D Integrated programme, M.Sc - Ph.D program and Training programs.
Admissions 2019Regional Centre for Biotechnology(RCB), Faridabad has announced admissions 2019 for PhD in Biostatistics and Bioinformatics.
Eligibility CriteriaCandidates have to fulfill the following eligibility criteria for getting admission for the Ph.D Programme:
Selection ProcedureSelection of candidates is based on the written test and interview. Eligible candidates need to attend the nationally-open written examination which will be held at RCB. The shortlisted candidates in written exam will be called for interview for the final selection. Selected candidates for the course will receive a consolidated stipend of Rs. 45,000/- per month for the first two years and Rs. 50,000/- for the next three years. The stipend may subject to taxes as per Government of India rules. Continuation of the stipend completely depends on satisfactory progress made by the student annually. A total of four students will be selected for these programmes annually.
Course work: Students who are admitted to these programmes will undergo rigorous course work either at RCB or NIBMG to complete the minimum 8 credits required for RCB PhD programme in the first year. There will be a three-months statistical internship for the Biostatistics students during the programme at GSK's Clinical Development Operations Centre in Bengaluru.
Application Procedure Interested and eligible candidates are requested to apply online through website "http://www.rcb.res.in". The last date for submission of application is 20th May 2019. The application fee is Rs. 500/-.The written test and interview will be conducted on 24th June 2019 and 25th June 2019 at RCB, Faridabad.
