About SIB

School of International Biodesign is established on the success of the Stanford India Biodesign Program which was started in the year 2007 till 2014. It is an innovative program implemented by the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of science and technology, Government of India at AIIMS (All India Institute of Medical Sciences), New Delhi, IITD (Indian Institute of Technology Delhi) and Biotechnology Consortium of India Limited (BCIL) in collaboration with international universities like Hiroshima University, Japan, and Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Australia.

Admissions 2019

School of International Biodesign, New Delhi has invited applications for the admission 2019 into iFellowship Programme which will commence from July 2019.

About iFellowship Program

The duration of this iFellowhsip program is one year. The main aim of this program is to train the next generation of medical technology innovators in the country. It focuses on the invention and development of the accessible, affordable and available medical technologies. Stipend, health coverage and travel costs will be provided for the enrolled candidates. This course also offers post-fellowship support for the promising innovators. Classes will be taken by the faculty from AIIMS, IITD, Start-ups, MedTech industry, Academia, and Hospitals.

In the past 11 years, more than 100 medical technology innovators have been trained in the biodesign process through this interdisciplinary program. And more than 50 prototypes, 30 medical devices have been developed by young innovators who are trained by the faculty of All India Institute of Medical Sciences and Indian Institute of Technology Delhi with international partners in the bio-design innovation process. And also 12 medical technology startups have been set up and 15 technologies have been transferred by the candidates trained under this program and with startup India program.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates have to fulfill following eligibility criteria for admission into the iFellowship program at School of International Biodesign:

  • Candidates should have a Graduate or Post-Graduate Degree in Engineering, Medicine, Business, Design.
  • Candidates who have a good track record of frugal thinking, innovation, and passion for entrepreneurship and willing to work in a team for technology and product development.

Selection Process

Selection is done based on the candidate's performance in in-person interview which will be conducted at AIIMS, New Delhi. The candidates who are selected for the fellowship Programme will get a stipend of Rs. 6000/- per month.

Application Procedure

Interested and eligible candidates are requested to apply online through the website. The last date to submit online applications is 31st May 2019. Candidates have to submit the application by providing details such as personal, educational and other details. After successful submission, an Application ID will be generated. Candidates can check the application status by providing application id and email with which they have registered.
