About UIET, Chandigarh

The University Institute Of Engineering And Technology, an in-campus department of Panjab University, Chandigarh was established in 2002. Its vision is to be the front runner in engineering education and research. It is one of the finest institutions of the country which secures its name among the top 50 engineering institutes of India. The whole campus is Wi-Fi enabled and students may avail this facility in the institute as well as in the hostels. UIET has MOUs with industry leaders and academia like Infosys, Spice Digital Limited, PGIMER, CSIO, C-DAC, IIT Kanpur, IIT Roorkee, etc. The institute has good liaison with industry.

UIET is spread over 10.5 acres of land with lush greenery. It has three academic blocks which include labs, office, library, and lecture halls. It offers Undergraduate (B.E.), Postgraduate (M.E./M.Tech. degree) as well as Doctoral courses. UIET has been awarded Design Innovation Centre (DIC), which is an initiative of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India and has been provided a financial outlay of Rs 10 Crores.

About Panjab University, Chandigarh

Founded in 1882 at Lahore and shifted to Chandigarh in 1956, Panjab University was the fourth teaching and affiliating University on the Indian Subcontinent under the British rule. Stretched over 550 acres, PU secures its name among the top 10 universities of India. The beautifully laid compact campus is equipped with 24-hour WiFi access with a 10 Gigabit campus-wide Network coverage. There are seventeen Residence Halls for students on the campus, 8 each for boys and 9 for girls and a Working Women Hostel.   • B.E EEE-81 + 12 NRI/FN + 4 EWS + 9 additional seats (43 general seats)

Additional seats are available as approved by the PU Syndicate. 5% (Freeship) additional seats are available for meritorious students belonging to Economically Weaker Section of the society who are otherwise eligible.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Candidates must have taken at least five subjects in class 12th/qualifying examination.

  2. Only those candidates are eligible who have passed class 12th/qualifying examination with at least 60% marks in aggregate (55% in case of candidate belonging to Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/Persons with Disability (PwD)/Backward Class).

  3. All India Rank (AIR) prepared by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on the basis of score in JEE (Main)-2019 shall be used for admission to B.E. courses by JAC2019.

Admission Procedure

Interested and eligible candidates have to apply at the official website and pay a registration fee of Rs 2500/- for general category and Rs 1250/- for SC/ST/PwD Category before 20th June.
The Registration Fee is to be deposited either in the form of e-Challan in any branch of SBI throughout India or through online payment (Debit card/Credit card/Internet banking).

Fee Details

  • Course Fee (per annum) : Rs 87,755 /- (approx)

  • Alumni Affairs: Rs 1,000 /-

  • Annual Subscription: Rs 1,000 /-

  • A candidate who is offered admission in UIET, Chandigarh is required to pay an amount of Rs 40,000/- to JAC2019. The second instalment of the fee will have to be deposited in November 2019.

  • Last date for generation of filled bank challan: 20th June 2019 (Thu) till 5:00 P.M.

  • Last date for depositing fee in State Bank of India using bank challan: 21st June 2019 (Fri) till 4:00 P.M

  • Last date for online registration and filling the registration fee details: 22nd June 2019 (Sat)

  • 1st Round of Counselling (choice filling): 1stJuly2019 (Mon)–4thJuly 2019 (Thu)

  • First round of seat allotment: 5th July 2019 (Fri) at 8:00 P.M.

  • Second round of seat allotment: 13th July 2019 (Sat) at 8:00 p.m

  • Third round of seat allotment: 20th July2019 (Sat) at 8:00 p.m

  • Reporting at allotted Institutes: 26th July 2019 (Fri)

  • SPOT round of seat allotment: 13th August 2019 (Tue) by 7:00 p.m

  • Physical reporting, documents verification and payment of balance fee (wherever applicable) for newly admitted/shifted candidates after the SPOT Round: 14th August 2019, (Wed)

Important Guidelines

  1. There is no Chandigarh Quota for admissions.

  2. Admissions will be done through four rounds of online counselling, i.e. three rounds namely first, second and third followed by last round of counselling, namely the SPOT Round. In the SPOT round, all candidates who have registered before the first round of counselling or freshly registered for spot round can participate regardless of whether they have participated in previous rounds or not.

  3. HOSTEL FACILITY: The candidates, who want to avail hostel facilities, should contact the respective allotted institute/college on the day of physical reporting to apply for a seat in the hostel.
