B.E. Chemical Engineering


B.E. Chemical Engineering is a four-year course offered by a limited number of institutions in India. It combines the study and application of the principles of chemistry and engineering to solve problems involving the production or use of chemicals. B.E. Food Technology


Bachelor of Food Technology deals with food engineering and food sciences. It deals with various food processing, packaging and storage techniques. It's due to the efforts of food technologists that the food processing industry is growing at such a rapid pace. Most of the jobs in this field are in the food processing industries. FCI or Food Corporation of India is one of the public sector enterprises which pays the highest salaries in this field. Integrated B.E. Chemical-MBA


Usually pursuing a B.Tech will take four years and MBA will take two years, but in an integrated B.Tech and MBA Course, students will complete B.Tech and MBA in five years by saving 1 year. Engineering and management are the most demanded disciplines of education, so there is so much demand for this profile in both public sectors and private sectors. However, this 5-year course at Panjab University is self-financing and has not got the approval of UGC/AICTE yet. Seat Distribution at Dr. SSBUICET



  • B.E. Chemical Engineering: 89+11 NRI+10 additional seats + 4 foreign nationals (49 general seats)

  • B.E. Food Technology: 30+3 NRI+9 additional seats+ 2 foreign nationals (16 general seats)

  • 5-year Integrated B.E. Chemical-MBA: 36+5 NRI+3 EWS +9 additional seats+ 2 foreign Nationals (19 general seats)

Additional seats are available as approved by the PU Syndicate for the candidates in each course who are otherwise eligible.
Additional seats are available for meritorious students belonging to Economically Weaker Section of the society who are otherwise eligible.

Eligibility Criteria



  1. Candidates must have taken at least five subjects in class 12th/qualifying examination.

  2. Only those candidates are eligible who have passed class 12th/qualifying examination with at least 60% marks in aggregate (55% in case of candidate belonging to scheduled caste/scheduled tribe/persons with disability (PWD)/backward class).

  3. All India Rank (AIR) prepared by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on the basis of score in JEE (Main)-2019 shall be used for admission to B.E. courses by JAC2019.


Admission Procedure


Interested and eligible candidates have to apply at the official website and pay a registration fee of Rs 2500/- for general category and Rs 1250/- for SC/ST/PWD Category before 20th June.
The Registration Fee is to be deposited either in the form of e-challan in any branch of SBI throughout India or through online payment (debit card/credit card/internet banking).

Fee Details


The fee structure has not been declared yet by the Institute. The fee structure of the courses will be displayed shortly on the website of JAC admissions-2019. For an approximation, the fee of B.Tech. Chemical Engineering and B.Tech. Food Technology was Rs 20,000/- per annum in the year 2018.
A candidate who is offered admission in Dr. SSBUICET, Chandigarh is required to pay an amount of Rs 40,000/- to JAC2019.

e) Migration/transfer certificate is required from candidates who have appeared for the 12th or equivalent examination from the concerned Board.
f) Gap year affidavit is required from the candidates who have appeared for the 12th exam earlier than the year 2019.
g) Category certificate (For those not taking admission in general category).

Important Guidelines


  1. There is no Chandigarh Quota for admissions.

  2. Admissions will be done through four rounds of online counselling , i.e. three rounds namely first, second and third followed by last round of counselling, namely the SPOT Round. In the SPOT round, all candidates who have registered before the first round of counselling or freshly registered for spot round can participate regardless of whether they have participated in previous rounds or not.

  3. Hostel facility: The candidates, who want to avail hostel facilities, should contact the college on the day of physical reporting to apply for a seat in the hostel.
