He also said, that with a footfall of 1 lakh foreign tourists, the domestic tourists crossed 1 crore in 2017.

Amarnath Yatra

Govt officials are also optimistic about the annual Amarnath yatra that begins from July 1, 2019, and lasts for about forty days. This will also help in the arrival of more tourists in the state. Officials have also intensified their efforts to counter the negative campaign against the state through different social media platforms. Devotees pay obedience to Amaranth shrine cave every year during July to August, and hundreds perform 'Pratham puja' in the cave which is accessible only once a year. Govt has made full proof security arrangement for devotees. The state has dedicated tourism police force for tourists and travellers to ensure their safety especially at places like Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Sonamarg. People visit the shrine without any apprehensions each year.

Tourism players have welcomed the increase in tourist arrival and maintained the tourists season is picking up after a doom in the industry for last a couple of months. Our lavish and sumptuous food especially "Wazwan" with the tinge of Kashmiri Saffron- world's best herb, is very much enjoyed by tourists. States' rich culture also encourages tourists to visit this state more often. The arrival of visitors in the state in huge numbers has lambasted the negative publicity by fringe elements about the state. The who tourists visited here in the past are impressed by the peaceful atmosphere and hospitality of the state, hence, are countering those negative campaigns against the state.
Hoteliers in the state are upbeat about the tourist especially hoteliers in Dal Lake, Gulmarg and Pahalgam are keen to see the tourist from south-east Asian countries as well as neighbouring countries.

As per the official reports, in the last couple of weeks, the number of visitors has increased between 5000-6000 and, therefore, airfares are skyrocketing. Srinagar-Jammu national highway, Kashmir's only Jugular vein connecting valley to the rest of the country remains affected due to frequent landslides at many places. Therefore, Airfares have increased manifold from Delhi to Srinagar due to the rush of tourists in the state.
