About Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU)Tamil Nadu Agricultural University is one of the oldest institutions which provide Higher Education in Agriculture. It is the first State Agricultural University which was accredited by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). TNAU is a premier non-profit public higher education institution which offers various UG, PG and Doctorate degree programmes in Agriculture. The main campus of the University is located at Coimbatore and its constituent colleges are located in Madurai, Killikulam, Trichy, Periyakulam, Kumulur and Mettupalayam. The University gives high importance to research and it also has a good bonding with reputed national and international institutes for the student exchange programme.

Note: TNAU admits the eligible candidates to any of its TNAU college campuses where the above mentioned specified courses are taught based on the merit score and the preference of the candidates.
How to apply?TNAU accepts online applications only. Candidates who are eligible for the PG degree programmes can fill the online application which is available at the official website of the University.
While filling the application form, the applicants must pay the application form fee online through the e-payment link. Application form fee for one subject is Rs.1500/- and it is Rs. 1000/- for SC/ST candidates.
Also, as a part of the application process, the candidates must upload the below mentioned scanned copies of the documents.
Note: While submitting the application online, if the application form fee is not paid or required scanned copies(documents) are not uploaded, then the application will be summarily rejected without any intimation.
Before filling the application form, candidates are requested to read the information brochure.
Selection processTNAU admits the candidates into the PG degree programs based on the merit score obtained by the candidates in a written test conducted by the university at Coimbatore campus. The exam date will be published on the University website and intimated to the candidate through email.
The duration of the written test is one hour and fifteen minutes. The test will contain multiple choice questions from the respective subjects. Candidates who have applied for two subjects should write the examination for both the subjects continuously for two and a half hours.

Admission procedureBased on the merit score of the candidates in the entrance test, TNAU will shortlist the candidates and will call them for the counselling process. The information of the selection for admission to the PG programme will be sent to the candidates through their registered email or mobile number. The list of selected candidates will also be hosted on the university website.
The university fills the seat as per the reservation policy prescribed by the Government. The candidates can select their preferred choice of study based on the vacancy.
The candidates who are selected for admissions into the PG degree programmes offered by the University and its constituent colleges must pay the prescribed course fees on or before the date specified by the Dean, School of Post Graduate Studies. Failure in doing so will lead to the cancellation of the seat and the name of that candidate will be removed from the selection list.
