This appears a good course as food processing, food safety and food quality assurance are going to be important developing areas to meet the food and related demands of the ever-growing population in our country. Only thing is the number of seats is very less and so the competition will be very stiff.

After this M.Tech. degree one has the opportunity to apply in the industry against various career options like Research Scientist in institutions or organisations, Research Associate in firms or companies, Food Quality Assurance Technologist or executives, Quality Control executives or Managers, Technical Services Managers, Research and Development Manager etc.

There is good scope in the industries dealing with basic food processing, canning, general food packaging, dairy food processing and packaging, frozen foods, thermo-processing industries, organic food development, food additives and preservatives etc. India having a big agricultural production is able to support these industries with the basic food material and there is a good scope of product activity in this field. The eligible candidates must apply for this M.Tech. course.
