The Centre for Philosophical Counselling and Research functioning under Department of Philosophy, Kerala University invites applications from candidates for the P.G.Diploma course 2019 in Philosophical Counselling. Usually the classes are conducted once in a year from July/August to June/July. For this year, the classes are scheduled to start on August. The main aim of the course is to develop the practical implications of philosophical methods which will enable the students to develop their own thinking skills The course consists of 4 papers in Semester I, 3 papers in Semester II and practical. The course goes with 350 hours of lectures and 150 hours of practical. Other details regarding this 1 year(2 semester) course are mentioned below.

There is no age limit for applying for the P.G.Diploma course in Philosophical Counselling conducted by CPCR.

Eligibility for P.G.Diploma course 2019 in Philosophical Counselling at CPCR Kerala University

Candidates with minimum 50% marks in Graduation in any discipline are eligible to apply for this course. But there will be preference given to candidates with graduation in Science, Sociology, Philosophy and Psychology.

Course fees and caution deposit

There will be a course fee of Rs 20,000 for this program. In addition to this course fee, there will be a caution deposit of Rs 1000/- (refundable).

  • Philosophical Counselling–Western Systems : 50 hours
  • Logical Reasoning and Critical Thinking: 50 hours
  • Ethical Principles of Counselling : 50 hours
  • Health: Psychological and Social Perspectives : 50 hours
  • Research Methodology and Report Writing: 50 hours
  • Counselling - Practical : 150 hours

Note: A candidate will be declared to have passed the examination only if he/she secures not less than 50% of the maximum in each of the components.
