This article provides complete information on the launch of a Champions Boat League 2019 by Kerala Tourism. The contact email to apply for franchisees and sponsors has been provided, along with brief details about the league's award money on offer, schedule, etc.

Overview

India's first even water-based sports league is to be launched soon by Kerala Tourism. It will be the world's biggest team sport too! It will be organized across 12 locations in the State of Kerala, which is famous for its enchanting houseboat cruises in the backwaters, not to mention its very popular snake boat races. These annual races in the traditional chundan vallams (snake boats) are at the core of rituals and festivities. Each boat is over 100 feet long, with a high stern. The boat has to be maneuvered through the waters with expert control by the oarsmen, numbering over a hundred. Each boatman dips and raises the oar in unison with the others, synchronizing it with the rhythm set by the drummers' drum beats and song chanters who maintain their precarious balance on the boat. It's frenzied, it's thrilling, it fills one with awe…it is just beautiful!
