Mahindra All India Talent Scholarships for Polytechnic Diploma Courses 2019

Overview

K.C. Mahindra Education Trust is a public charitable trust established to promote literacy and encourage higher studies by providing financial assistance and scholarships for students from low-income families as also other disadvantaged students. The Trust has announced scholarships for students who have got admission this year (in 2019) in a Government or a Government-recognized Polytechnic institution for Diploma courses. These are annual Mahindra All India Talent Scholarships (known as MAITS) which are awarded to deserving students who have passed their Class 10 or Class 12 exams and have secured the admission to the institute. The aim is to provide financial aid to them to pursue a job-oriented course which will enable them to get employment opportunities on successful completion of the course.

Scholarship Features

Amount

The Trust awards the scholarship of Rs.10,000/- per year, up to a maximum of three years. A total of 550 needy and deserving students can avail of this scholarship.



Eligibility requirements

You should have completed Std. X and/or Std. XII from a recognized school/college and passed the SSC/HSC exam. Additionally, you should have secured more than 60% marks in the Board exams. Preference will be given to –
  1. Girl students.

  2. Students who are from families of the lower-income group.

  3. Students who are differently-abled.

  4. Students who are children of personnel of the Armed Forces.

How to apply

You can obtain an application form through a request sent to the address given below. You must enclose a self-addressed envelope with the request letter. The application form is also available online at the K.C. Mahindra Education Trust official website.

The following documents must be submitted with the application:
  1. A recommendation letter from any one of the two referees whom you have mentioned in your application. This could be a teacher or employer.

  2. A brief statement our interests, general aptitude and the type of vocation you would like to pursue, as well as your ambitions and aspirations.

  3. An attested copy of Certificate of Date of Birth as recorded in your school certificate.

  4. An attested copy of mark sheets and certificates of the exams which you have passed.

  5. An attested copy of a letter from the institution where you have secured admission has been secured.

  6. Family Income certificate copy.

  7. A self-attested copy of first page of passbook or canceled cheque.

  8. A copy of the Aadhaar Card (this is mandatory).

Important note: If you have not secured admission, then you will not be called for the final interview. Hence, it is imperative that you submit a copy of the admission letter as soon as you secure admission.

After getting the scholarship

If you are shortlisted for the scholarship, you will be sent an intimation of the date and the venue for the personal interview. The cost of the travel to the interview centre will be paid, to a certain extent.
