How to submit online applications for CAT-2019 for admissions to IIMs

The Indian Institute of Management has announced the schedule for the Common Admission Test 2019 (CAT-2019). CAT-2019 is mandatory for those seeking admission to Postgraduate courses and Fellow programs at any of the Indian Institute of Management (IIMs) in India. The scores you obtained will be used for the admission process at listed non-IIM member institutions as well, but IIMs will not be involved in the selection process of such institutions.

Seat reservation 15% for SC candidates, 7.5% for ST candidates, 27% for OBC candidates belonging to the "non-creamy" layer (NC-OBC), up to 10% for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) candidates; 5% for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwD). Note that if you are applying under any of these categories, then you must upload a copy of the SC/ST/NC-OBC/EWS/PwD certificate as applicable at the time of the CAT application registration. If you fail to do so, then your CAT-2019 registration will be rejected. Subsequent to the selection, the certificate and a photocopy must be submitted at the time of interviews as well as when joining the IIM course. If you fail to do so, you will not get admission under the reserved category.

The following eligibility criteria is for the purpose of the test only. It will not guarantee that you will be on the shortlist of candidates for admission to any IIM.
Educational Qualification: You must have a Bachelor's Degree, with a minimum 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (45% for SC, ST, and PwD candidates) from a recognized University or educational institution. If you are appearing for the final year of your Bachelor's degree course (or equivalent qualification exam) and have completed all the degree requirements and are awaiting results, then also you can apply. In such a case, though, if you are selected, you can join the course at an only on submitting a certificate from the Principal/Registrar of the University/Institution where you are studying, stating that you have completed all the requirements for obtaining the degree/equivalent qualification on the date of issue of the certificate.
Candidates who have completed a professional degree, such as CA or CS or ICWA (with the same percentage as mentioned) can also register and appear for CAT-2019. Those who have not undergone any Bachelor's Degree must have completed any one of the afore-mentioned professional degrees.
Work experience: Those having relevant work experience are required to enter the information of the experience as completed on 31st July 2019, during the registration process. Only details of full-time experience after graduation should be provided. Part-time work, project work, internships, Articleship and pre-graduation work experience will not be counted as work experience.
Registration fees
You need to pay the above registration fee as per the category applicable only once, even if you apply for admission to multiple institutions. This registration fee, though, will not be refunded under any circumstances.
Payment modes: You can make the online payment with a debit card or a credit card or via Net Banking facility or mobile wallet or UPI transaction.How to register and apply for CAT-2019
You must register for CAT 2019 only at the official CAT 2019 registration website between 10 a.m. of 7th August, 2019 and 5 p.m. of 18th September, 2019. First, register yourself to generate a unique User ID and Password. Then Log in with that User ID and Password to fill in the application form. Submit the application form after entering details and making the requisite online payment to complete the process. Ensure that you have a valid email ID and a valid mobile number, as these will be verified through an OTP sent to that mobile number and email address. Those applying from overseas will receive the OTP on their email address only.
Other than your own valid mobile number and email ID, you will be required to enter an alternate email address and emergency mobile number while filling up the application form. This emergency mobile number should be different from the primary mobile and preferably should belong to a close relative or a close acquaintance who can be contacted in case of an emergency.

Also keep ready the following academic qualification certificates as you will be required to fill in details of these: (i) SSC/10th/Equivalent; (ii) HSC/12th/Equivalent/Diploma Course; (iii) Bachelor's Degree; (iv) Master's Degree; (v) Other Professional Degrees.
Important Note: Once you make the payment and the application form is submitted, you will be unable to make any changes. Hence, do not be hasty in filling up the application form. Ensure that you provide all the relevant details correctly. You can even save a session and log in later to complete the application at some other time, any number of times.
