Introduction The Central Govt. has launched a project to create a database of Persons with Disability (PwD) and to issue a Unique Disability Identity Card (UDID) to every person with a disability. Similar to the Aadhar ID card, the UDID card will be useful for citizens to submit when availing of benefits provided specifically for PwD.

Through a notification in leading newspapers, the Chandigarh Administration stated that it has set up help centres to assist persons with disabilities who are residing in Chandigarh with the registration process. The nodal person and staff at each centre will help in the online filling up of the application form at the official government website of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment.
Eligibility criteria Any Person with Disability who is a resident of Chandigarh and has a valid Disability Certificate which has been issued by the competent authority of the Chandigarh Administration can visit the centre for registration.
