Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) [PMAY(U)], eligible beneficiaries can apply online or offline free of cost and this can even be done from the State / UT Government channel like a Common Service Centers (CSCs) at a nominal charge of Rs.25/- + GST.

Please be informed that the Ministry has not authorized any private entity or person to collect money as a consideration for availing of any benefit under the PMAY (U) Mission. So, Beware on this.

What is Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) PMAY(U)?



The PMAY(U) Project is aimed for urban areas with following components / options to States / Union
Territories and cities:-

  • Slum rehabilitation of Slum Dwellers with participation of private developers using land as a resource

  • Promotion of affordable housing for weaker section through credit linked subsidy

  • Affordable housing in partnership with Public & Private sectors, and

  • Subsidy for beneficiary-led individual house construction or enhancement


Pradhan Mantra Awas Yojana scheme Features:

  • Interest subsidy of 6.5 percent on housing loan will be provided for 15 years to the beneficiaries.

  • Older and Differently abled persons will be given preference in the allotment of ground floors under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana scheme.

  • Eco friendly and sustainable technologies will be used during the construction process.
