The summer movie season has officially ended and we are now just 4 months away from the end of the year. After a somewhat sedate August, we can again expect some big movies from September onward. Let's a have a look at most anticipated movies from Hollywood in the last phase of 2019.

1. IT: Chapter 2

IT: Chapter 1, based on Stephen King's iconic work, was a smash hit in the year 2017 and grossed in excess of USD 300 million in USA alone. It is one of the biggest R rated grosser ever. The movie is about a bunch of kids in a fictional town who take on a shape-shifting entity who has terrorised the children and killed many of them. In the sequel, the kids from the first part have all grown up and moved to different cities except one. However, when 'IT' returns, they decide to come back to end this menace once and for all. The movie stars Bill Skarsgard in the titular role of Pennywise clown along with James Mcavoy and Jessica Chastain will be released in USA on September 6.

2. Joker

The character of Joker from the world of Batman is easily the most popular villain in the pop culture since Heath Ledger made it immortal in the movie 'The Dark Knight'. Now Warner Bros has decided to give us the origin story of Joker. The USD 60 million budgeted movie directed by Todd Phillips of The Hangover fame is more of a crime drama than a superhero spectacle. The trailer was released a couple of months back and it was acclaimed. The role of Joker has been played by Oscar nominated actor Joaquin Phoenix and he certainly looks more apt at playing the legendary Batman antagonist than Jared Leto who played the same role in Suicide Squad. But we need to wait till October 4th to know how the movie is.

3. Jumanji: The Next Level

Nobody had expected the Jumanji reboot to pulverise box office records when it was released in December 2017. The original Jumanji starring Robin Williams was released in 1995 was a good success but most of the people didn't expect the reboot to perform as well. However, the USD 90 million budgeted movie ended its run beyond USD 400 million and launched a new franchise. The sequel promises to be bigger and better. Dwayne Johnson returns with most of the original cast along with the addition of Danny Glover and Danny Devito. The movie will hit the theatres on 13th of December

4. Frozen 2

Since the success of Cinderella in 2015, Disney has mostly focused on making live action versions of its treasure of animated titles as well as fairy tales. But this year, the mouse studio will be back with an animated fairy tale. Frozen was a gigantic success in the year 2013 when it not only won an academy award but also raced past USD 400 million at the domestic box office. The sequel will be releasing on 22nd November, six years after the original debuted. The expectations are sky high as the first movie was a critical success as well. But will it be able to surpass Pixar's Toy Story 4? We will have to wait and watch.

5. Star Wars: The Rise of the Skywalker

The mother of all blockbusters will be releasing on 20th December. The last movie in the Star Wars franchise will be bringing down curtains on one of the most iconic and beloved movie franchise of all time. The 9th movie in the Star Wars saga, which began with Star Wars: A New Hope in 1997 will be the most anticipated movie in USA after Avengers: Endgame. The last movie 'The Last Jedi' was a huge success but the audience reaction to it was pretty divided. So this brings the question that how far it can go at the box office in a year where the final part of Avengers movie scored in excess of USD 800 million. Director of the first movie in the trilogy, J.J. Abrams returns as director along with the principal cast of Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega and Oscar Isaac.
