Courses offered

The Indian Institute of Aeronautics offers a 3-year long programme in Aviation Maintenance Engineering (AME). It is a professional course that balances theoretical classes with practical hands-on experience. Two-and-a-half years of the programme are dedicated to theory classes and practical training, and 6-months are devoted entirely to on-the-job training.

The Indian Institute of Aeronautics Science – Jamshedpur is recognised by the DGCA to offer a License Course for Maintenance and Certification of aircraft. It is a three-year full-time course, and admission takes place in July each year.

  • Education Qualification: Candidates desirous of joining the course should have qualified 10+2 with PCM, with an aggregate of 50%. Alternatively, they should have a degree or diploma in any engineering branch with a 50% aggregate
  • Age Limit: Candidates must be between 17-24 years of age
  • Admission Test: Aspirants must register for a qualifying exam, conducted annually pan India. Admissions are merit-based, depending on the marks scored in the written test. Candidates may also seek admission through the management quota, which is a paid seat. 20% of seats are reserved under this scheme, while another 20% of the seats are reserved for girl students
  • Course Fees: The tuition fees for girls is Rs. 76,000 per annum and Rs. 95,000 for the boys for the same period. Meritorious students can receive scholarship
