UG and PG degree courses at Institute of Aeronautical Engineering Hyderabad

Aeronautical engineering and Aerospace engineering are niche branches of engineering that very few students opt. These branches deal with design and manufacture of aircraft, spacecrafts and many other devices that fly. Institute of Aeronautical Engineering, in Hyderabad, India is one of the best institutes in the country to offer this wonderful field and this article provides complete information on their UG and PG courses.

What is Aeronautical and Aerospace engineering

Aeronautical Engineering deals with the design and development of aircraft, and Aerospace engineering generally is the study of design and development of spacecraft, missiles, and aerial weapons. It's a niche field. Not many opt to study it because the subjects are tough. But it's a very interesting branch of engineering. In India, the Indian Institute of Aeronautical Engineering (IARE) is one of the best colleges for Aeronautical Engineering. Institute of Aeronautical Engineering was established in Hyderabad in 2000, by Maruthi Educational Society. It was the first institute to introduce Aeronautical Engineering in Telangana. IARE is an autonomous institute that offers seven different B.Tech courses along with Aeronautical Engineering. There are M. Tech and MBA programs too.

IARE B.Tech. syllabus

  1. First-year syllabus consists of basic engineering subjects like engineering mathematics, English, applied physics, engineering chemistry, engineering mechanics, engineering drawing, engineering workshop, IT workshop and C programming.

  2. Second-year syllabus consists of mathematics, the theory of structures, fluid mechanics and hydraulics, introduction to aerospace engineering, basic electrical and electronic engineering, thermodynamics, probability and statistics, aircraft materials and production, analysis of aircraft structures and low-speed aerodynamics. This is where the basics of Aeronautical and Aerospace engineering are picked up.

  3. Third year syllabus consists of aircraft propulsion, high speed aerodynamics, finite element methods, aircraft systems and control, aircraft performance, research and content development, flights control laboratory, space propulsion, aircraft stability and control, computational aerodynamics, introduction to robotics and ideation and production development. All of these are core subjects of AE. Among this, finite element, methods are most sought by recruiters lately because its methods are used to calculate mathematics and physics problems.

  4. Fourth-year syllabus has structural dynamics of aerospace, space mechanics, flight vehicle design, open electives, professional electives, value-added courses and flights controls theory. There are major and mini projects in the fourth year too. For further details of the curriculum visit the official website https://www.iare.ac.in/?q=courseslist/70.

IARE M.Tech. syllabus

  1. First year syllabus consists of Advanced mathematics in Aerospace engineering, Aerospace propulsion, flight dynamics and control, engineering analysis of flight vehicle and electives.

  2. Second year syllabus is filled with projects. Research methodology and IPR, and electives. For details about syllabuses and courses go to the website https://www.iare.ac.in/?q=pages/mtech-course-descriptions-r18.

Opportunities in India for AE

Aeronautical engineers are primarily into the design of aircraft and spacecraft. But they are also instrumental in the fields of automobile, turbine projects, space research, drone manufacturing, high-speed train manufacturing, etc. In India, the companies that recruit them are Air India, DRDL, ISRO, HAL, NAL, DRDO, civil aviation, Indian airlines, and many other private airlines. At the international level, Boeing, SpaceX, Airbus, Rolls Royce, etc recruit aerospace and Aeronautical engineers. More than 50 national and multinational companies visit IARE each year. Belcan, which is an aerospace pioneer, is also among them.

IARE admission process and fee structure

IARE is one of the finest institutes to learn Aeronautical Engineering and Aerospace engineering in. It is ranked 139 in engineering colleges of India by NIRF. There are advanced software and machines like CAD/CAM, CNC machine, VLSI digital system design that assists the students in their engineering courses.

Admission procedure Students are taken into IARE through EAMCET and management quota. EAMCET is a common engineering entrance test. 70% of seats are allocated to EAMCET rank holders and 30% of seats are reserved for management/NRI quota. After qualifying EAMCET, the student is supposed to fill in the college form and attend the Counselling session. Once the application is done, the candidate gets a convening certification from JNTUH University. This must be submitted in the college along with the original certificates that are mentioned by the college. Once this is done, the fee is paid and the candidate becomes a student of IARE.

Fee structure: For 2019-20, B. Tech tuition fee in Aeronautical Engineering is as follows:

  1. First year: 90,000 Rs.

  2. Second year: 67,000 Rs.

  3. Third year: 67,000 Rs.

  4. Fourth year: 67,000 Rs.

For M. Tech in Aerospace engineering, Tuition fee is as follows:

  1. First year: 70,000 Rs.

  2. Second year: 70,000 Rs.
