How to use YONO SBI App: Banking made simpler and greener


YONO (You Only Need One) SBI is an app developed by the State Bank of India to make banking faster, paperless and more accessible to its customers. This article gives you brief details about the registration process and services provided for SBI customers through the YONO app.

YONO (You Only Need One) SBI is an app developed by the State Bank of India to cater to the growing service expectations of it's Savings Bank account holders and tech-savvy customers. The YONO app is available for both Android and iOS platforms. Most of the services provided through the app are available at the official website too. Account-holders must register themselves first to avail the services provided by YONO. Customers can even apply for opening a new account in SBI through the app.

Registration

The official website is https://www.sbiyono.sbi/.

Through Internet Banking

This can be done if you already have the internet banking facility of SBI.

  • Go through the path "Existing Customer" => "Login using Internet Banking ID" and click 'Yes' for the question 'Do you have SBI Internet Banking ID?' after installing the YONO app.

  • Enter your internet banking Username, Password and click "Submit".

  • You will be asked to set a 6 digit MPIN for the app. If interested, set MPIN by entering the OTP received in the mobile number registered in your account and click "Submit".

  • Or you can login using your internet banking credentials everytime.

Through ATM Card

This can be done if you don't have an internet banking facility but you have an ATM card.

  • Go through the path "Existing Customer" => "Register with my ATM card" after installing the YONO app.

  • Enter your CIF number, Account number from your passbook and click "Next".

  • Enter your ATM Card number, ATM PIN and click "Next".

  • You will be asked to set a temporary password for internet banking. After you set it, an SMS containing your temporary username for internet banking will be sent to the mobile number registered in your account.

  • Enter the temporary username, password and click "Next".

  • Now, you can set your permanent username and password for internet banking.

  • Then, you can follow the above-mentioned process for registration through internet banking.


Through Account Details


This can be done if you have neither internet banking nor ATM card.

  • Go through the path "Existing Customer" => "Register with Account details" after installing the YONO app.

  • Enter your account number, date of birth registered in your account and click "Next".

  • Enter the OTP received in the mobile number registered in your account and click "Submit".

  • You will be asked to select the rights (Enquiry/Limited Transaction/Full Transaction) for internet banking. Then, you will be asked to set your permanent username and temporary password for internet banking.

  • A reference number will be generated which will be valid for 30 days. Visit the branch where your account is being maintained and submit the reference number. The branch will activate your account for YONO facility and you will receive an SMS containing an activation code.

  • Go through the path "I have Activation Code" in the YONO app.

  • Enter the permanent username, temporary password you set previously & the activation code you received and click "Submit".

  • You can set your permanent password for internet banking now. After that, you will be asked to set a 6 digit MPIN for the app. If interested, set MPIN by entering the OTP received in the mobile number registered in your account and click "Submit".

  • Or you can login using your internet banking credentials everytime.



Referral code will be asked in multiple screens during the above process. It's just a code given to SBI staff and it's not mandatory. This is how the home page looks like after successful registration and login.

1) Balance Enquiry/Account Statement (Last 150 transactions)/Spend Analysis (Accessible through Home Page => "Accounts")

2) Update account details like email id, mobile number, nominee etc,. (Accessible through Menu => "Service Request")

3) Apply/Activate/Block ATM Card (Accessible through Menu => "Service Request")

4) Apply Cheque Book/Stop Cheque (Accessible through Menu => "Service Request")

5) Open/Close Fixed/Recurring Deposits (Accessible through Home Page => "Accounts" => "My Deposits")

6) Apply new/View existing Loans in SBI (Accessible through Menu => "Loans")

7) Buy new/Link existing SBI Credit Card, Demat Account, Mutual Funds, Insurance (Accessible through Home Page => "Accounts")

8) Online Shopping, Bill Payments, Booking Train Tickets (Accessible through Menu => "Shop and Order")

9) Money Transfer (Accessible through Home Page => "YONO Pay")
Amount upto Rs.10,00,000 can be transferred to any bank account daily. Payments up to Rs.10,000 will be processed instantly but payments above Rs.10,000 may take up to 4 hours for processing. And, adding beneficiary is must for payments above Rs.10,000 which also may take up to 4 hours for processing.

Unique Features


10) Pre Approved Personal/Pension Digital Loans

Through the YONO app, customers can avail personal/pension digital loans i.e. loans with no documentation required. Eligible customers can see the offer in the home page of YONO app. To avail the offer, click on it and:
* Select amount & repayment period upto offered limit.
* Select EMI payment date.
* Read Terms & Conditions.
* Recheck loan details.
* Enter OTP sent to your registered mobile number.
That's it. The loan amount will be instantly credited to the customer's Savings Bank account.

11) YONO KRISHI: Online advisory services and marketplace for farmers. Customers can also apply for Agri Gold Loans through this service.

12) YONO CASH

Using the YONO app, customers can withdraw cash at SBI ATMs, Merchant POS machines, Customer Service Points without using the ATM card physically.
Limitations (ATM): Amount should be in multiples of Rs.500 and a maximum of Rs.10,000 (Rs.20,000) is allowed per transaction (day).
To do such a cardless transaction at ATM:
* Go through the path Menu => "YONO Pay" => "YONO CASH" in the app.
* Select "ATM".
* Enter the amount of cash you want to withdraw.
* Create new/Enter existing 6 digit PIN valid only for YONO CASH transactions.
* You will receive an SMS containing a transaction OTP valid for 2 hours. Visit your nearest YONO CASH enabled ATM (can be seen in the app).
* Click the "YONO CASH" button at the bottom of the ATM screen.
* Enter amount, 6 digit YONO CASH PIN & transaction OTP you received and your transaction will be processed.
