The institutions of IIA group offer the best aircraft maintenance course in Category A(Line Maintenance) and Category B1.1(Base Maintenance). In this academic program, theoretical and practical knowledge of aircraft maintenance engineering is given to candidates, so they become top-notch Aircraft Maintenance Engineers. The AME course offered by this institution includes "Basic AME Course", the duration of which is 1 year for Category A and 2 years for Category B, and "Actual Maintenance Experience", the duration of which is the same as the Basic AME Course for both the categories. The students need to complete these courses in an Aircraft Maintenance Organization. Only after completing the course, they are eligible for the Aircraft Maintenance License that allows them to work as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. Category A1 license is a Basic Aircraft Maintenance Engineering license. It covers Jet Engine Powered Aeroplanes. Students who get this license can be employed directly without Type-Rating requirement. They are given the authority to issue 'Certificate of Release to Service (CRS) to an aircraft after basic line maintenance. In any type of Jet Engine Powered Aircraft, under Line Maintenance category, their services can be made use of. Category B1.1-Base Maintenance
Category B1.1 license includes all the authorities given to a Category A1 license holder. For students to obtain Category B1.1 license, Type-Rating is mandatory because only after that, they become eligible to be called Aircraft Maintenance Engineers. They can be employed in Line Maintenance as well as Major Maintenance for the type of aircraft they have attained Type-Rating in.
