First started in 1966, the Oberoi Centre of Learning and Development (OCLD) is located at Delhi in Maidens Hotel. It offers intensive management training programs which are globally recognized to be among some of the best in the hospitality sector in Asia. Fresh batches of students are inducted each year with applications opened in September and the training programs beginning in the month of July in the following year.
It does not matter if you have not done any program in hotel management prior to joining a program at OCLD. About the programs
Guest Service Management program
This program of two years' duration includes training in Food and Beverage Service and in Front Office management. You get appointed as an Operations Executive in one of the hotels of the Oberoi Group on successful completion of the program. In due course of time, you may get ahead in your career to take up the role of a Food and Beverage Manager or as a Front Office Manager.Housekeeping Management program
The two-year course is centred on Housekeeping. On successfully completing this program, you can join the Oberoi Group in the position of a Housekeeping Executive. Later opportunities may arise to take up the role of Executive Housekeeper.Kitchen Management program
The two-year course is ideal for those keen on taking up a career which is associated with culinary skills. Those who successfully complete the program can join a hotel of the Oberoi Group as a Kitchen Executive and may get to be appointed as an Executive Chef. Sales Management program
This is a fairly new program, started about two years ago. For the duration of 18 months, students get hands-on training alongside course academic studies. You can then take up a fruitful career in hospitality sales with the Oberoi Group.
Eligibility requirementsFor all the above-mentioned programs, you must fulfill the following eligibility criteria -
Age criteria: You should be between 19 and 25 years of age.
Educational qualification: You should have successfully completed, or are completing, a university or college degree in any discipline or have a Degree in Hotel Management from a recognized institution. For the Kitchen Management program, you must have completed, or are about to complete, a Graduate Degree in Hotel Management.How to apply
