Flight Dispatcher course Eligibility:

  1. The candidate must equal or above the age of 21 years. All below the age are not eligible
  2. The applicant must be Competent and communicative in English i.e. able to read, speak, write and understand the English language fluently.
  3. The candidate has at least high school education (10+2) or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics subjects from a recognized university or board. It is not necessary to have graduation.
  4. It is preferred that the candidate have a Pilot license and be credited with 200 hours of training on specific topics.
  5. The applicant must pass a written knowledge test, a practical flight planning test, and an oral exam.


Flight Dispatcher Exam (Written, Practical and Oral):

Written Exam: The written exam for the Flight Dispatcher Certification Knowledge test consists of 80 questions to be attempted in 3 hours' time. The candidate must be at least 21 years old to take the exam and gain at least 70% or higher in each subject to pass the exam. The score of the exam is valid for 24 months. The exams must be taken from an approved testing center.
Practical and Oral Exam: The practical exam for the Flight Dispatcher Certification will include thorough flight planning implementation. This includes taking notice of aircraft upkeep problems, loading along with weight and balance, fuel management, air flight routes, traffic control procedures, Weather forecasts and heavy wind, company prerequisites, etc. The topics not considered during the practical exam may be covered while reviewing during an oral exam by an FAA-designated examiner.   3. Flight Operations Officer is in charge for planning the flight considering, the weather analysis report, maintenance of the aircraft, provide Notices to Airmen (NOTAMS), navigational facilities at the appropriate airports, etc.
  4. Keep communication with the pilot while the flight is in progress, air traffic control and track its route, timing and other issues.
  5. Take operational decisions like timing change of flight, take-off and landing issue, emergency landing, delay or cancellation of flight, if required to ensure the safety of the flight and notify the Pilot about the change.
