About MAT
Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is an entrance test conducted to screen the candidates for admission to MBA or Post Graduate Diploma programs in Management in Business Schools. All India Management Association (AIMA) is conducting MAT test since 1988. AIMA has initiated several national levels tests such as MAT, Research Management Aptitude Test (RMAT), Under Graduate Aptitude Test (UGAT), Accredited Management Teacher (AMT) Certification AMT and Customized tests. In 2003, the Government of India, MHRD has approved the Management Aptitude Test as a national level test. MAT Score is accepted by over 600 Business Schools (B-Schools) across India. MAT score is also accepted by certain institutes for admission to postgraduate degree or diploma programs.Mode of MAT Test
Candidates can take MAT through any of three modes:
In the Paper-Based Test (PBT), a question booklet and an OMR answer sheet will be provided to the candidates and in Computer Based Test (CBT), questions will be presented on the computer monitor.MAT Test structure
MAT test consists of 5 sections and each section consists of 40 Multiple choice questions. The duration of the test is 150 minutes. The test structure is as follows:
MAT scores will be released to both the candidates and management institutes. Candidates can download the MAT score after 3 weeks from the date of the test from the AIMA website. MAT scores are accessible only to those business schools, the notifications of which are appearing in the bulletin. Candidates may produce their MAT score to all the business schools accepting MAT scores for admission even though their notifications not appearing in the bulletin.Eligibility criteria
Candidates have to fulfill the following eligibility criteria to apply for MAT 2019:Application process
Interested and eligible candidates can apply online at official website. Candidates have to upload the scanned images of photograph and signature while filling the application online. Candidates have to pay the application fee through Credit Card/ Debit Card/ Net Banking/ UPI/ Paytm Wallet. The last date for applying for PBT is 1st December 2019 and for CBT is 6th December 2019. Candidates selecting only the Paper-Based Test (PBT)/ Computer Based Test (CBT) can select 5 management institutes. And candidates willing to take both PBT and CBT will have a benefit of selecting 2 management institutes additionally for sending scores, which means they can select 7 institutes.
