Indian Maritime University was started in the year 2008 as a teaching cum affiliating university under the support of the Ministry of Shipping, Government of India. Admissions 2020

Indian Maritime University (MIU) has announced admissions to the following two-year MBA programs:

  • MBA - International Transportation & Logistics Management (At Kolkata, Vishakapatnam, Chennai, Cochin Campuses)
  • MBA - Port & Shipping Management (At Chennai, Cochin Campuses)

Eligibility criteria

Candidates have to fulfill the following eligibility criteria to apply for admission to the MBA program in IMU

Candidates who have secured minimum 50% of marks in aggregate in the bachelor's degree from recognized universities can apply. All such candidates with 50% aggregate marks must have secured minimum 50% marks in English subject in 10th/ 12th/ UG degree. 5% relaxation in eligibility marks will be given for SC/ ST candidates.

Selection process

The selection of candidates for admission to the MBA program is based on the candidate's performance in the Common Entrance Test (CET). CET is an All-India online test conducted by IMU. The date of CET 2020 is 4th January 2020 between 11 am and 2 pm. CET consists of 120 multiple choice questions and the syllabus is Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation, Verbal Ability, and Logical Reasoning. There is no negative marking in CET. It is conducted in the following 12 cities - Bangalore, Bhopal, Chennai, Kochi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, New Delhi, and Patna. Candidates can select 3 preferences of exam cities.

Application procedure

Interested and eligible candidates can apply via online at the official website of the university. While filling the form, candidates must upload their photograph, scanned signature, scanned copies of the 10th standard mark sheet, 12th standard/ degree certificate, caste certificate if applicable and other relevant certificates. Candidates have to pay the registration fee of Rs. 1000/- (for General/ OBC-NCL candidates) and Rs. 700/- (for SC/ST candidates) online itself.

  • The start date for online registration: 15th November 2019
  • Last date for basic registration with online payment of application fee: 10th December 2019
  • Last date for submitting detailed application form: 13th December 2019
  • Date of availability of Hall ticket: 20th December 2019
  • Date of CET: 4th January 2020
  • Date of declaration of result: 10th January 2020
