For undergraduate and PG programs, CUSAT conducts a Common Admission Test(CAT) while there will be a departmental test if you wish to get admission for M.Phil and PhD programs. Eligibility

  1. B.Tech programs: The courses like B.Tech in Marine Engineering and Naval Architecture & Ship Building offered by CUSAT requires candidates to meet certain medical conditions. In general, candidates who have passed class 12 with at least 45% marks in Mathematics and 45% aggregate in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are eligible to apply for B.Tech programs 2020 in CUSAT. There is a slight difference in eligibility criteria for some B.Tech programs like Instrumentation Technology, Naval Architecture and Ship Building, Polymer Science and Engineering as well as Marine Engineering courses offered by CUSAT.   2. MBA programs: Candidates with a valid KMAT/CMAT/CAT(IIM)Score can apply for MBA programs. The selection of the candidates will be based on their KMAT/CMAT/CAT(IIM) Score, Group Discussion and Interview

  3. M.Tech programs: For M.Tech programs, candidates with a valid GATE score in the respective subject will be given preferences. If there are no candidates with a valid GATE score, then those without GATE score will be given admission based on their DAT performances conducted by the concerned departments

Application fees

  • Unreserved category students: Rs 1000/-
  • Reserved category students: Rs 500/-

How to pay the application fees?

Candidates are requested to pay the application fees in online mode only through Credit/Debit Card or Net Banking.

Exam pattern

For B.Tech and 5 year M.Sc programs, the test consists of objective type questions from Mathematics(120 questions), Physics(75 questions) and Chemistry(50 questions). This exam will be of 3-hour duration.
