Introduction State Bank of India released a recruitment notification on 2nd January 2020 for 8224 Junior Associate posts spread over 20 circles of SBI. Candidates have to apply online from 3/1/2020 to 26/1/2020. A preliminary examination may be conducted in February or March. The main examination for the selection may be conducted in the second week of April 2020.
SBI announced the recruitment notification for 8224 posts in 20 circles. Candidates can apply for posts of any circle but they must be proficient in one of the local languages of that circle, so as to be able to speak, write and communicate with others fluently. EWS quota also will be implemented for these posts. The last date for applying these posts online is 3-01-2020 to 26-01-2020.

Qualifications Any Degree, Candidates who have written last year Degree exams, Dual Degree (IDD) passed.
Age:- By January 1 st, 2020 the candidates must be in between the Age group of 21-28.
Selection Procedure The selection procedure includes three stages- In Phase-1 Preliminary exam will be conducted, in Phase-2 Main examination, language test will be conducted. Phase-1 and Phase-2 are computer-based tests. All these tests are time-based and the various parts of these tests are completed in the prescribed time.
In the Preliminary and Main objective test, there is negative marking. For every wrong answer in this objective test, the 1/4 mark will be deducted. Section-wise cutoff marks will be there in both Preliminary and Main objective tests in the selection procedure. The marks got in both tests also will have a cut off mark. These marks will be decided by SBI after evaluation.
Language Test Language test will be conducted after the candidates qualify in Main exams if the candidates are not local. If the candidates show a pass certificate of local languages in10th class/12 class, language tests won't be conducted for the candidates.
Pre-exam training Candidates of SC, ST, Ex-servicemen, Minorities can use the facility of SBI Pre-exam training centers conducted in various cities of India. If the candidates show their willingness to utilize this facility in their online application they will be intimated for that training program.
Probation Period Preliminary test marks are meant only for selecting for Main test. Marks got in the Main test marks, language test verification, biometric verification only will be used for selecting the post. Selected candidates will have to undergo a probation period of six months. In this probation period, candidates have to undergo e-lessons on the primary basic aspects of banking. If they successfully complete that task they will be promoted to Junior Associate posts with an initial scale of Rs.13,075-Rs.31,450. Rs.26,000 as pay salary for candidates working in Metro cities. After evaluation of marks scored in the Main test, a list of successful candidates state-wise will be prepared. If any candidates in the selected list if not joined the job candidates selected on the waiting list will be recruited to the post. The list of selected candidates and the waiting list will be honored for one year.

Pattern of Examination The preliminary exam will be conducted in objective mode comprising of 100 questions to be answered in 60 minutes.
English language section includes 30 objective questions to be answered in 20 minutes. This test provides 30 marks.
The Numerical ability test comprises about 35 questions to be answered in 20 minutes. The test provides 35 marks.
The Reasoning ability test comprises about 35 questions to be answered in 20 minutes. The test provides 35 marks.
Based on the marks scored in the above test, category wise candidates will be selected for the main test.
The Main Exam also will be conducted in objective mode only. A total of 190 objective questions to be answered in 160 minutes. The main test provides 200 marks. 50 questions on General/Financial Awareness, 40 questions on General English, 50 questions on Quantitative Aptitude, 50 questions on Reasoning and Computer Aptitude will be asked.
Preparation Strategy for Preliminary and Main Tests As English language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning Ability questions are there in both Preliminary and Main Tests, more emphasis should be given for learning the skills to answer these questions.
For General English, importance should be given for learning Vocabulary and Grammar. Reading English News Paper daily will help in proper learning of sentence construction, use of tenses and verbs in the sentences without mistakes. As negative marking is there in these tests, it is better to leave of questions that you don't have any clue.
Quantitative Aptitude Questions are asked from Fractions, Decimals, Percentage, Profit and Loss, Ratio, Discount, Partnership, Interest, Time-work, Work-Time, Graphs, Triangles, Circles, Cylinders, Mensuration, Squares, Rectangles, Angles, Bar Graphs, Height-Distance, etc. So candidates have to go through various objective exercises of these topics thoroughly so that they can answer them in less time. Candidates have to learn short cut easy methods to answer them in less time.
In Reasoning and Computer Aptitude Test, more questions will be asked on general reasoning but less wattage will be given to logical/Analytical reasoning. Questions will be asked on Directions, blood relations, coding-decoding, Series, Ven diagrams, seating arrangements, etc. Questions on Data Flow will be asked in reasoning questions. Computer-based questions include questions on basics of Computers, Internet, Software, Hardware, Keyboard short cuts, Net Works, Operating systems, etc.
In the General and Financial Awareness section, more questions on current affairs will be asked. Candidates have to collect authentic information from reliable sources regarding National and International News, Science and Technology, Economic issues of nation and world, especially about banking issues, important economic institutions of the nation and world, RBI, Stock market, banks, welfare schemes of the central government, International issues, sports, etc. Questions on these topics should be thoroughly learned to do well in this section.
