National Entrance Screening Test 2020 also known as NEST 2020 is a popular entrance exam for admission to National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), Bhubaneswar and Mumbai University - Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS), Mumbai. If you qualify the NEST exam 2020, then you will get a chance to do integrated MS programs in the above-mentioned institutes. In addition, candidates will receive annual scholarships and grants. NISER:
  • Total - 200
  • General -101

  • Divyangjan - 5% seats in each category

CEBS:
  • Total - 57

Age limit

General and OBC category candidates born on or after 1 August 2000 will be eligible to apply for NEST 2020. SC/ ST /Divyangjan category candidates will be given age relaxation of 5 years.

Eligibility criteria

Candidates who have scored a minimum 60% aggregate marks in class Xll(Science stream) from a recognized Indian Board is eligible to apply for National Entrance Screening Test 2020. But for SC/ST/Divyangjan category candidates only 55% is necessary.

Are candidates appearing for final exam eligible to apply for NEST 2020?

Yes, candidates who are appearing for the exam in March 2020 are eligible to apply for NEST 2020.

Application fees

  • General/ OBC (Only Males)- Rs 1200/-
  • SC/ ST/Divyangjan - Rs 600/-
  • All Females- Rs 600/-

How to pay the application fees?

Candidates can make the payment using credit card/debit card/net–banking through the online payment gateway. You can use only Mastercard/Visa/RuPay cards.

Note: Do not send any document to NEST office in the entire application process.

How and Where to apply?

Candidates should fill out the online application form which is available in www.nestexam.in. Remember that there is no other mode for application submission. The detailed online application procedure is mentioned on the website and so all candidates are requested to read it thoroughly before filling the application form. Once you register online, you will receive all information regarding logging into application submission as well as fee payment portals.



Selection process

Candidates will be selected based on their performance in NEST 2020, which is a computer-based test(CBT/online exam). Separate merit list will be prepared for NISER and CEBS and candidates can get information regarding it from the NEST website(www.nestexam.in).

Exam centres

The NEST 2020 exam will be conducted in 90 centres all over India. In Kerala, the exam centres will be Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Kottayam, Idukki, Kozhikode, Palakkad, Thrissur, Kasaragod and Kannur. Candidates can choose 5 centres based on their preference while filling the forms.

Important dates

  • Start date for submitting online application : 7 January 2020, 6:30 PM
  • Last date and time for submitting online application : 3 April 2020, 6:30 PM
  • Start date for downloading admit card : 24 April 2020
  • Date and time for NEST 2020 : 6 June 2020, 9:00 AM- 12:30 PM and 2:30 PM- 6:00 PM
  • Date of publishing results : 16 June 2020
