About the summer fellowship
IIT Madras is offering a two month paid fellowship at its campus in Chennai during the summer months of 2020. The program is aimed to make the students aware and get interested in high-level academic research. The program is open to students from engineering, basic sciences, humanities and management background. For the successful completion of your fellowship, you will have to complete a mini-project. Even though the likely dates for the program have been published, the schedule has been kept flexible, so as not to cause any inconvenience to the students attending the program.Duration and period of the program
The fellowship program is for a period of two months. It is likely to commence from 20 May 2020 and end on 19 July 2020. Stipend
The students will receive a stipend of Rs 6,000 per month for a period of two months.Eligibility criteria

Aspiring candidates should have an excellent academic background and should have obtained high ranks in their university examinations. They should be able to highlight their academic achievements in terms of greater performance, project participations and executions, presentation of papers at seminars, participation in design contests, Mathematics Olympiad rankings as well as other awards and recognitions won, if any, in academics.
Students from IITs to note that this fellowship program is not for them. The program is only for non-IIT students.How to apply
For applying for this summer fellowship program, eligible candidates need to visit the website of IIT Madras at https://sfp.iitm.ac.in/. The application has to be submitted online. For submitting the online application, you need to first create an account with the site. You will be requiring a valid email address for creating the account. All notifications and messages will be sent to you through this email address only. Once you have logged in to the site, you need to fill the form by giving personal and academic details. You will also need to upload a few files as given under.
While uploading the files, ensure that the file sizes should not exceed 5 MB. Requirement of bonafide certificate
The candidates will have to submit a letter from their college or university certifying that they are bonafide students of the institute. The bonafide certificate is to be issued by the Head of the institution where the student is presently studying.
