Procedure for getting RTE school admission after online application

RTE vacancies in a school in Maharashtra are allotted as per a lottery system for schools, the lottery drawn by the local Primary Education officer of the district. In a school with vacancies that are more than the number of applications, the seats will be allotted to all the applicants. It is in schools where there are fewer vacancies than the number of applications that the lottery system will be used. The selection list will be then published online on the official website, with the list accessible to parents only through the application login for parents. Parents can then download and take a print out of the Admit Card and approach the school for completing the necessary admission procedure requirements.

A school will give priority to the child who stays within the range of a 1km radius from the school campus address. Once the vacancies are filled on this basis and then there still exist more vacancies, then those children who are residing within the range of 2-3kms radius from the school will be considered.

Important note: If you are seeking admission to a school for an RTE vacancy, you are neither required to pay any application fee for the application form, nor for getting admission to the school.
