About NATA
Council of Architecture (CoA) is conducting National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) since 2006. CoA is a statutory authority of the government of India. NATA is a national level exam conducted for admission to a five-year B.Arch program in various architectural institutions approved by the council. NATA expects the candidates to possess the following skills - drawing and observation skills, sense of proportion, aesthetic sensitivity, physics, chemistry and mathematics at intermediate level (10+2) and critical thinking ability. NATA 2020 will be conducted twice a year, the first test on 19th April 2020 and the second test on 31st May 2020 at various centres located all over India. NATA consists of 2 parts: Part A and Part B.
Part A:
It is a paper-based test on drawing in A4 Size paper which consists of three questions carrying 35, 35, 55 marks respectively, the total for 125 marks. The duration of the exam is 135 minutes.
Part B:
It is an online test that consists of 15 multiple choice questions on PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Maths) and 35 multiple choice questions on General Aptitude and Logical Reasoning, the total for 75 marks. The duration of this exam is 45 minutes.
Qualifying marks for NATA 2020
The qualifying marks for the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) 2020 will be based on the following three rules:Eligibility criteria
Candidates have to fulfill the following eligibility criteria to take the National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA) 2020:Application process
Interested and eligible candidates willing to apply for NATA 2020 can apply online at the official website. Candidates have to fill in the application form and have to upload the images of the recent passport size photograph in color and signature in jpg/ jpeg format. Candidates have to pay the application fee of Rs. 2000/- (Rs. 1,700/- for SC/ ST and PwD category candidates) through credit card/ debit card/ net banking. If candidates want to appear for both first and second tests, then they have to pay the application fee of Rs. 3800/- (Rs. 3,100/- for SC/ ST/ PwD category candidates). It is not mandatory to appear in the two tests, candidates can appear for both or for one test either first or second.
