About the scholarship

Rolls-Royce India Private Limited, as part of its CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) efforts, is offering scholarships to meritorious girl students, studying in 1st, 2nd and 3rd year of their engineering studies. This is a joint effort by Rolls-Royce along with its partners Buddy4Study and Charities Aid Foundation India (CAF). The idea behind their efforts is to promote the study of STEM subjects, mainly science, technology, engineering and mathematics among girl students. This will help the girl students to take up a career in the STEM domain, which is otherwise dominated by male candidates. The program focuses on identifying academically brilliant girl students who have limited financial means. By identifying such students, the scholarship program thus wants to empower and facilitate their career in STEM. Girl students, who are pursuing engineering courses in disciplines like electronics, computers, aerospace, marine engineering, etc. are to apply for this scholarship.

Scholarship amount

The selected students will be offered a scholarship of Rs 35,000. The students also get the opportunity to be mentored by Rolls-Royce engineers, including women engineers.

Number of scholarships

A total of 150 girl students will be awarded with this scholarship.



Eligibility criteria

  1. The scholarship could be availed by girl students only.
  2. Those students studying in 1st, 2nd or 3rd year of their respective engineering degree programme can only apply for this scholarship.
  3. The institution, where the applicant is studying, should be an AICTE recognized one.
  4. The percentage of marks obtained in class 10 and 12 board exams should not be less than 60%.

  1. Online application start date – 05 February 2020
  2. Application closing date – 31 March 2020

Selection process

The selection process is a three-tier one.
  1. Applications will be initially screened on the basis of academic merit, past performances and financial need of the student based on her parent's income.
  2. Shortlisted candidates will then have to go through a telephonic interview.
  3. If need be, candidates will be called for a face-to-face interview, for deciding the final selections.

How to apply for the scholarship

Eligible candidates to apply online by visiting the Buddy4Study portal, which is the official partner for the Rolls-Royce scholarship. . At the portal, click on the 'Apply Now' button. You will be directed to a login page. Once logged in, you can then fill up the application form with all the necessary details. Before final submission, you will have to scan and upload a few important documents, the details of which are given below.

  • Photo identity proof of self
  • An address proof
  • A self-attested copy of your 10th and 12th class mark sheets
  • Admission proof for your current college. You may submit your college identity card, admission fees receipt or any other valid document proving your student status
  • Fees receipt for the current academic year
  • Bank account details through a cancelled cheque or the first page of your bank passbook, where all the necessary details about the account are available
