The Army Institute of Fashion & Design (AFID) is a professional institute which offers UG and PG education in fashion designing and apparel management. The institute is established by The Army Welfare Education Society (AWES) to meet the educational needs of the children and wives of Army Personnel who are retired and active in service. It is one of the reputed institutes in India to offer fashion education. The campus is well-equipped with the latest machinery in all the laboratories to learn textile and fashion education. AFID has released an official notification for admissions into the B.Sc. Fashion and Apparel Design (FAD) for the academic year 2020-2021. The total number of seats available for UG course in AFID is 60. Out of 60, 54 seats are available for the wards of Army personnel and 6 seats are available for Karnataka civilians who have passed 12th Standard Examination from Karnataka State Board Examination.

The online application form for B.Sc. Fashion and Apparel Design (FAD) admissions 2020-2021 is available at the official website of AIFD. The eligible candidates must submit their online application form to appear for the entrance examination conducted by AIFD.
To fill the online application form, the candidates must register themselves as a new user by filling all the mandatory fields in the registration form and create a login id. Already registered user can log in using their credentials to fill the application form. In the online admission application form, all the required columns must be filled carefully in the prescribed format without any errors and the following documents/certificates must be uploaded.
Documents to be attached along with the application form
The application form fee is Rs. 750/- (non-refundable). For successful admission registration, candidates must fill the application form, upload the necessary documents and pay the form fee online through Debit / Credit Card / Net Banking. Any changes in the application form must be finished before completing the payment procedure. Once payment is made, no amendments can be done in the application.Selection process
Candidates who have submitted the application form will be shortlisted and will be called to attend the computer-based entrance test conducted by AFID. While attending the entrance test, the candidates must hold their admit card downloaded from the official website of the institute.
The final admission of the students into the UG course is purely based on the candidate's performance in the entrance test and the admission approval of the University. The wards of Gallantry award winners will be given weightage in admissions if they have submitted the necessary proof.
Based on the score, the list of the students who have passed or selected for admissions will be published on the college website and will also be displayed in the college notice board. Those shortlisted candidates for admissions have to pay the Course Registration Fee of Rs.10,000/- & Rs 5000/- for hostel through a Crossed Demand Draft in favour of " Army Institute of Fashion & Design" payable at Bangalore within 15 days of publishing of the CBT Results. After the receipt of course registration fee of the candidates, AFID will release the final list of candidates admitted for UG course at their official website. If the course registration fee is not paid within the due date, then AFID will assume that the candidate is not willing to join the course and will cancel the offer given to that candidate. If an offer is cancelled, then that seat will be offered to the next candidate who is on the waiting list. Admission will be accepted only if the candidates pay their course fee and dues within the due date.
Note: At the time of admission, AFID will verify all the documents submitted by the candidates and their eligibility. If a candidate is found ineligible at any time before or after the commencement of course, then AFID has all rights to cancel his / her candidature without any refund of the fees or charges paid.
The admissions at AFID are provisional and will be considered final only when the candidates satisfy all the eligibility conditions and the necessary documents/certificates/proofs submitted by them are approved by Bengaluru North University. Entrance exam details
For admissions to the UG course, AFID will conduct Computer Based Test (CBT). Candidates have to take the entrance test at their assigned entrance exam centres mentioned in their admit card. The entrance test will be in English medium only and will contain a total of 100 marks without negative marking.
Part-A: Multiple Choice based (70 marks)
Part-B: Creative work (30 marks)
Total: 100 marks
Duration: 3 hours
Components: Logic and Analytical Skills Test, General Awareness Test, English Language Competency & Comprehension Test.
