About College of Nursing-CMC Vellore, Chittoor Campus

Christian Medical College, Vellore is one of the reputed medical institutions in India. It is a private, Christian minority institution that runs a hospital, medical schools, and research institutes. The college also runs a nursing campus near the hospital and offers UG, PG and Diploma courses in nursing. The Chittoor campus is a new campus of CMC specially established to extend their service in health care and education in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The College of Nursing-CMC Vellore, Chittoor Campus offers nursing courses in order to help the students understand the scientific principles and clinical experience involved in nursing. The college has good facilities and faculty members. It also admits Indian students and foreign nationals.

Currently, the college invites applications from the eligible candidates for admissions into the B.Sc nursing course for the academic year 2020. B.Sc. Nursing admissions 2020

B.Sc. Nursing course offered at College of Nursing CMC Vellore, Chittoor Campus is affiliated to the Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences, Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. The duration of the course is 4 years + 1-year service as Junior staff nurse. The total number of seats available at the college for this course is 50. Out of 50 seats, 7 seats will be allotted for open category and the remaining 43 seats will be allotted for Minority Network & CMC Vellore Staff quota. For SC/ST quota, 3 seats will be allotted from the 7 seats of the open category.

Who can apply

Only unmarried women candidates who satisfy the below-mentioned eligibility conditions can apply for B.Sc. Nursing course at College of Nursing CMC Vellore, Chittoor Campus.

Age: Candidates should have completed 17 years of age as on or before 31st December 2020. For SC/ST candidates, the maximum age limit is 35 years and for other candidates, the age limit is 30 years.

Educational qualifications: Candidates should have passed in all subjects in the higher secondary examination conducted by Andhra Pradesh state board or any other recognized education boards(ISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE). To apply for the course, the candidates must have scored a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology(PCB) at the qualifying examination. For SC/ST candidates, 5% relaxation will be given in the PCB aggregate marks. No improvement marks from class 12 examinations will be considered.



How to apply

Application form for B.Sc Nursing course is available at the official website of CMC, Vellore. The forms must be submitted online only. While submitting the online application form, candidates must upload the necessary supporting documents and pay the application form fee which includes a basic administrative fee of Rs.800/- plus a registration fee of Rs.500/-

The application form fee is different for foreign nationals. For the applicants from SAARC countries, the basic administrative fee is Rs.1700/- and the registration fee is Rs.1700/- For the applicants from the rest of the world, the basic administrative fee is 100(US $) and the registration fee is 125 (US $).

The application form fee must be paid through any one of the following methods.

  1. As a Challan at no extra cost at any branch of ICICI bank in India. When filling payment details in the application form, a challan will be generated. The candidates are requested to fill FC-CMC-V on the challan and after payment, the original challan must be sent to the registrar office before the last date of submission of the application form.

  2. Online payment via debit card/credit card/ net banking. If the online transaction is not successful, then kindly check with your bank to see whether the amount is debited from your account or not. If the amount is debited from your account and you are unable to complete the submission of the application form, please drop a mail to registrar@cmcvellore.ac.in

Note: Application number will be generated only after payment of the application fee. The application will not be registered if the fee is not paid. Also, the college will not refund the application form fee under any circumstances.

Steps to fill the application form

Before filling the application form, the candidates are advised to read the admission bulletin available at the official website.

  1. The first step in the online application process is that the candidates have to create a new registration using their name, gender, email-id, phone number and date of birth. Correct details must be provided while filling the application form as all communication regarding the admissions will be sent by the college as email and SMS to the candidate's registered email id and phone number.

  2. Once the registration is completed successfully, the candidates can go ahead and fill the application form online. All the mandatory fields in the form must be filled correctly. The information provided on the application form will be taken as final and no changes will be allowed.

  3. After filling the form, candidates should upload the scanned copy of their recent colour passport size photograph taken after 1st February this year, light background( Format: jpeg; Size: not exceeding 80 Kb, Width: 150 pixels & Height: 150 pixels) and the scanned copy of their signature ( Format: jpeg; Size: not exceeding 50 Kb, Width: 150 pixels & Height: 50 pixels)

  4. After uploading the photo and signature, candidates should pay the application form fee through any one of the methods mentioned earlier. The application form will be submitted successfully once the payment is done.

  5. After successful submission of the form, candidates should take a print out the application form and the application confirmation page for their reference. Remember, the hard copy of the application form need not be sent to the Registrar's office. Only the original ICICI challan(if payment is done through challan mode) and the following enclosures along with the application number must be sent to the " Office of the Registrar, CMC, Vellore 632002" before the last date of submission of the application form.
    Enclosures
    • Copy (not original) of Community/caste certificate, duly signed by Dy. Tahsildar or
      District Magistrate. If the certificate is not in English, an attested English Translation
      should be attached.

    • Application form for Undergraduate College Recommendation for Minority Network
      category for Christians along with required enclosures/certificates (if applicable)

  6. Once the application form is submitted successfully, candidates will get an acknowledgement SMS and email within a week of final submission of the application. If the acknowledgement is not received, candidates are requested to write an email to registrar@cmcvellore.ac.in mentioning their temporary login id.

Note: After the submission of the application form, the eligible candidates can download their hall ticket from the official website using their application number as 'user name' and date of birth as 'password'. Candidates who are unable to download the Hall Ticket from the website can write to registrar@cmcvellore.ac.in or call 416 – 228 4255 / 228 4495 and get their hall ticket and the location of their exam centre.



Selection process

All the eligible candidates who have applied for a B.Sc nursing course must go through a competitive selection process which includes 2 steps.

Step 1: a preliminary Computer Based Test (to assess the candidate's subject knowledge)
Step 2: Special test and interview (to assess the candidate's aptitude and character)

The computer-based test will contain questions from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Aptitude and current topics. The test will be in English and it has no negative marking. The subject-oriented questions will come from the higher secondary syllabus followed in class 11 and 12. The entrance test will be conducted at the exam centres located in the following cities

Exam Centre Cities: Bengaluru, Bhubaneswar, Calicut, Chennai, Delhi, Ernakulam, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Kottayam, Lucknow, Madurai, Mumbai, Nagercoil, Puducherry, Salem,
Thiruvananthapuram, Vellore and Vijayawada.

Only candidates who are shortlisted in step 1 will be invited through email/speed post to attend the step-2. Step 1 results will be published on the official website of the college. Being called for Step-2 does not necessarily mean selection or acceptance of eligibility.

The step 2 process will be conducted at the CMC Vellore, Chittoor campus. The candidates who have applied for the course under the Minority Network category should take a test on Bible Knowledge which will contain multiple-choice questions from the bible. Also, at the time of registration for step 2, the candidate should produce original certificates for verification.

Once both the selection steps are completed, the college will release the list of students selected for admissions at their official website. The final admissions at the college are based on inter-se merit. In addition to the academic qualification, the college also uses various other factors to evaluate the overall performance of the candidate. The selection process and admission guidelines are followed as per the orders passed by the Government / University / Professional Councils.

Selected candidates must report at the time and place specified for the course registration. The selection of the candidates will be cancelled if they fail to register.
