About IGNOU
Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), located at Maidan Garhi, New Delhi, was established in 1985. It was named after Indira Gandhi, the former Prime Minister of India. It is a Central University which is supported by the Central Government of India. The university was started with a budget of Rs.20 million and only two academic programs were begun. As on date, IGNOU is running about 228 certificate course, diploma courses, degree and doctoral programs. There will be a two-stage admission process for PhD at IGNOU Delhi. Details of which are given below:
Stage 1 – Entrance Test: It is the first stage. Candidates will have to apply and fill the online application form to appear in the entrance exam. Candidates will have to qualify the exam with minimum qualifying marks. To qualify the exam candidates have to secure minimum 50% marks.
Stage 2 – Interview/ Presentation: Only qualified candidates will be called for interview/ presentation. After this round admission offer letters will be sent to successful candidates only. How to apply
Admission seekers are required to apply and fill the application form online. Candidates must visit the official website of National Testing Agency (NTA).
The online application will have to be filled in by the following steps:
Step 1: First of all, applicants needs to be log on to the official website i.e. ignouexams.nta.nic.in.
Step 2: Then, applicants will have to be get registered themselves via the new registration process.
Step 3: After completion of the registration process, user ID and one-time password will be sent to the registered email ID or mobile number of the user.
Step 4: Now, candidates must log in to the website with this user ID and password.
Step 5: Then, the candidates will have to enter all the required details like personal details, address, qualification etc. Thereafter scanned photograph ( size- 10-200 KB) and signature (size-4-30 KB) in JPG/JPEG format must be uploaded.
Step 6: Now candidates are required to pay an application fee to complete the application process.
Step 7: After the completion of the application process, candidates can download and print the online application form for further use.Application Fee
An application fee is to be submitted while applying online.
For general category or OBC category candidates application fee is Rs.1000/-.
For SC/ ST or EWS category candidates application fee is Rs.800/-.
Mode of Payment: Payment is to be done via Debit card/ credit card or net banking.

IGNOU PhD 2020 Admit Card
Admit card for the PhD admission entrance exam will be issued by NTA to the candidates who have successfully submitted their application form within the stipulated timeline. After issuance of Admit cards candidates can download and print hall tickets.
