About GIPE-Pune

Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics (GIPE)also known as Gokhale Institute established in the year of 1930, is recognized by University Grants Commission, National Assessment and Accreditation Council B.Sc (Economics). The Institution campus consists of the facilities of Library- the Dhananjaya Rao Gadgil Library having more than 280,000/- books/periodicals, Auditorium Kale Hall with 320 seating capacity, fully air-conditioned seminar hall with a seating capacity of 80, Conference room, 14 classrooms equipped with LAN/Wi-Fi, desktop/laptop and LCD projector, 2 Computer labs with a seating capacity of 40 & 64 respectively. The residential campus includes 3 hostels with LAN/Wi-Fi networks for 24x7 accesses to the Internet. One hostel is for boys with an accommodation capacity of 48 and another two for girls which have the accommodation capacity of 186 girls. Besides these, this Institute including staff houses for teaching and non-teaching, guest houses, a multipurpose hall.

B. Sc. (Economics) Programme

Candidates who are willing to apply for B.Sc(Economics) program at GIPE- Pune should have the following eligibility criteria;

Candidates must have passed the 12th Standard/HSC board examination or equivalent examination, with minimum 60% marks in aggregate. (For SC/ST category candidates minimum 50% marks in aggregate)
Candidates, who have appeared for the 12th/HSC board exam in the academic year 2019-20 and are waiting for their results, can also apply. Such candidates should report their result to the Institute at the earliest on declaring the same.

The duration of this undergraduate program is 3 years. Number of seats available: will be 60 Nos plus 09 seats for foreign students.

Selection

Selection to B. Sc. (Economics) Programme will be based on the Entrance exam conduct by GIPE at various centres on the date 03rd May 2020, from 10. AM to 12 noon
The medium of the Entrance exam will be in English. and it will contain 100 objective type questions based on Aptitude in Mathematics (40 marks) CBSE syllabus covered up to 12th class, Analytical Ability and Reasoning (40 marks) and English language skill (20 marks).

The application fees is Rs.1000/- and you can pay it by online payment gateway using Debit card/Credit card or Net banking facility

Eligibility for Post Graduate (Economic) programmes

Candidate must have completed graduation with minimum 50% marks in the aggregate. (For SC/ST reserved category candidates45%)
Candidates, who have appeared for the final year degree exam in the academic year 2019-20 and are waiting for their results, can also apply. Such candidates should report their result to the Institute at the earliest on declaring the same.

Selection procedure to PG (Economic) programmes

Selection to M.Sc. Programs & M.A Economics Programme will be based on the Common Entrance Exam (CEE) conduct by GIPE at various centres on the date and time mentioned below. The medium of the Entrance exam will be in English. It will contain 100 objective type questions (MCQ) based on Aptitude in Mathematics and Statistics (30 marks), Analytical Ability and Reasoning (20 marks), Undergraduate level knowledge in Economics (50 marks). There is no negative marking system for wrong answers.
