NCHM JEE-2020 B.Sc. in Hospitality & Hotel Administration courses online new schedule


Keen on pursuing a course in Hospitality & Hotel Administration in India? Students seeking admission to undergraduate courses in Hospitality & Hotel Administration in India for the academic year 2020-21 need to appear for the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology Joint Entrance Examination 2020 (NCHM JEE-2020). This article explains how to register and apply online and also gives details about eligibility requirements and the test format.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology Joint Entrance Examination 2020 (NCHM JEE-2020) for students seeking admission to the Hospitality and Hotel Administration courses in India.

About the course

The Bachelor of Science program in Hospitality and Hotel Administration (B.Sc. HAA) is a three years' course that students can pursue at any of the affiliated institutes under the National Council for Hotel Management. The course is offered in collaboration with the Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). Across the six semesters, you will be learning about various fields of operation in the hospitality and hotel administrative sector, including F&B services, housekeeping roles, operating the front office, food safety, HR management, etc. You will be attending academic classroom lectures, doing lab work and honing your skills related to supervisory responsibilities. Aspects of finance and tourism will also be covered in the curriculum. You can opt for the B.Sc.HHA program (Generic & Vegetarian) if you so wish, with vegetarian practical options available. The theoretical part will be the same for everyone.



NCHM JEE-2020 eligibility requirements

Age criteria

You should be not more than 25 years as on 1st July 2020. This age criterion is applicable for candidates applying in the General and OBC categories. So those born on or after 1st July 1995 are eligible to appear for the exam. If you are applying as an SC or ST candidate, then you should be born on or after 1st July 1992 (the upper age limit is 28 years).

Academic qualification

As a student from India, you need to have passed the Class 12 exam (10+2 pattern of Senior Secondary education) of any recognized Central/State Board. Other acceptable qualifications are –
(i) Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University;
(ii) General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level;
(iii) High School Certificate Examination of Cambridge University.
(iv) A Public School/Board/University exam in India or in a foreign country that is recognized by the Association of Indian Universities as equivalent to the 10+2 pattern of Senior Secondary education;
(v) The H.S.C. vocational exam that is approved by NCVT and SCVT of the concerned State;
(vi) The Senior Secondary School exam conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects. This should include English and the exam result should be available no later than 30th September 2020.

In case you are appearing for the 10+2 exam or an equivalent exam this year, then also you can appear for the NCHM JEE 2020 exam and get provisional admission based on your score in the exam, as long as you submit the relevant proof of having passed the 10+2 or equivalent exam latest by 30th September 2020.



Fitness requirement

On being selected for admission, you will be required to submit a physical fitness certificate at the time of admission from a Registered Medical Practitioner in the prescribed format that is available in the information bulletin.

NCHM JEE-2020 application process

You must submit the application only through the online mode with a valid email ID and mobile number at the official NCHM JEE-2020 registration website and only once. More than one application will result in the rejection of all the applications. Before you do so, though, ensure that you read the information bulletin which is free for downloading at the official website.

You will need to upload the following documents during the online application process:
  1. A scanned photograph in JPG/JPEG format with the size between 10kb to 200 kb. The photo can be either in colour or in black and white but should have a clear contrast.

  2. The scanned signature in JPG/JPEG format with the size between 4 kb to 30 kb.

On completing the application, you have to make the online application fee payment through Debit/Credit Card/Net Banking/ PayTM or UPI. The fee is Rs.900/- for General and Non-Creamy Layer OBC candidates, Rs.700/- for EWS candidates, and Rs.450/- for SC, ST.PwD, and Transgender candidates.

On successful submission, a printout of the confirmed submission can then be taken for future reference. You do not need to send the form to any of the institutes or to NTA.

NCHM JEE-2020 test format

The Computer Based Test (CBT) is of 200 marks and the question paper will be available in English and Hindi. During the three-hour paper, you will be answering questions in five sections: Numerical Ability and Analytical Aptitude (30 marks), Reasoning and Logical Deduction (30 Marks), General Knowledge & Current Affairs (30 marks), English language (60 marks), and Aptitude for the service sector (50 marks). NCHM JEE-2020 Important Dates

The last date to submit applications was 31st March 2020. However, due to the current COVID-19 lockdown, the last date has been extended to 30th April 2020, up to 4 p.m. The online application fee will be accepted up to 11.50 p.m. of 30th April 2020.



The revised date to download the Admit cards and the date of the exam will be displayed on the official website after 15th April 2020.
