Bengaluru Dr. B R. Ambedkar School of Economics (BASE) has announced admissions open for its full-time residential postgraduate courses, namely the five-year integrated M.Sc. (Economics) course and the two-year M.Sc. (Economics) course for the academic session 2020-21. Courses offered by BASE are full-time residential ones, and summer internships are mandatory. Those students who obtain admission in the reserved category and minority students are eligible for national scholarships, for which BASEU will provide the necessary guidance and assistance.About BASE
Bengaluru Dr. B R. Ambedkar School of Economics is an autonomous Institution of the Government of Karnataka currently located at the campus of Bangalore University. The Wi-Fi enabled campus has smart classrooms and a learning resource centre stocked with over 2000 books. Students are provided with laptops to access online sources at the centre. Journals and periodicals of an inter-disciplinary nature are also available, as also biographies and autobiographies of eminent people.
Currently, hostel accommodation on the campus is not available as it is under construction so students are given Paying Guest accommodation (separate facilities for girls and boys) for a nominal fee and food is also provided. Since the courses are residential, students are required to stay in the PG facility only. There will be no fee charged for transporting the students to the campus and back to the PG facility.
Course details and eligibility requirements
The integrated M.Sc. (Economics) course is of five years' duration, but you can decide to exit from the course on completing three years. To be eligible for admission to this course, you should have completed the Class 12 exam or any other recognized equivalent exam with a score of at least of 65% marks in aggregate (for SC and ST candidates, the min. is 60%). Additionally, you should have taken up Maths as a core subject and English as one of the languages at the Class 12 level.

For the regular two-year M.Sc. (Economics) course, you should have successfully cleared the B.Sc. or B.Sc.(Honours) in Economics exam with a minimum of 55% (50% for SC/ST) in aggregate. Additionally, for the Degree, you should have taken up the subjects of Econometrics, Maths, and Statistics as other major courses.
Course application fees
The application fee for the integrated M.Sc. (Economics) course, is Rs.200/- for GM and OBC category candidates and Rs.100/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates. The application fee for the two-year M.Sc. (Economics) course is Rs.300/- for GM and OBC category candidates and Rs.150/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates.

For both the courses, you must submit your application in online mode only at the BASE official website.
