About UNFPA
United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) works in more than 150 countries and territories and has its headquarter in New York. UNFPA fund became operational in 1969. Since 1994, after the guidelines of the International Conference on Population and Development, UNFPA is partnered with governments, civil society etc. to boost its mission. During 2013, a Civil Society Advisory Panel was also formulated by UNFPA to promote relations and communication with organizations, networks and partners on programming and policies. The current Executive Director of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) is Dr Natalia Kanem. She was appointed by United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres on 3 October 2017.
