As Andy learns to navigate his way through prison life, he is also planning an escape from the prison very secretly and meticulously. Again this movie is an adaptation of a book named 'Schindler's Ark' by an Australian writer. It a very moving Hollywood film based on World war ll and the holocaust. Though it may sound grim it is one of the best and very inspirational movies made on the holocaust and tells an exemplary story of a German who saved Jews. It tells the story of Oskar Schindler who is a German businessman and a member of the Nazi party but who is profoundly and deeply affected when he sees the execution of Polish Jews by Germans and makes a tremendous effort to save them. He employs the Jews in his factories to save them from dying at the concentration camps. It is a true story of love and compassion amidst war and hatred which inspires us all to do our bit for humanity.
This is a good compilation by the author. Hollywood is known for producing various movies on different subjects and people look up to it for newer and newer adventures. I have seen many of them and was much impressed by their content and cinematography. Though my taste is basically in mysteries and suspense I am equally impressed with the inspirational ones also. The problem with Hollywood movies is that those who do not grasp their pronunciation sometimes do not like to see these movies as the content does not get absorbed with the speed in which the narration is moving. Anyway, this difficulty is now overcome as subtitles are available in most of the cases and in fact, I have seen so many other language movies (like Korean) also subsequent to having this facility. Apart from what the author has mentioned in the article, I vouch for some more in this genre and they are - Rocky, 127 Hours, Freedom Writers, Amelie, Forrest Gump etc.
