Institute of Liver & Biliary Sciences (ILBS) is an autonomous super-speciality institute and an international centre of excellence. The institute has an advanced setup for the treatment and dedicated research and is continuously engaged in the Basic, Clinical and Translational Research including liver transplantation, biliary and gallbladder diseases etc. The institute is going to hold entrance test and inviting application for the various courses for the academic session 2020-21vide its advertisement no. ILBS Academic 01/2020, namely PhD, Post Doctoral Certificate Course (PDCC), Post Graduate Certificate Course (PGCC) and certificate courses.

Details of Courses and Seat Availability

  • PhD Molecular and Cellular Medicine: 10 seats including NET/NEET Qualified – 07 seats; Non-NET/NEET – 03 seats.
  • PhD in Epidemiology of Viral Hepatitis and Liver Diseases: 02 seats for NET/NEET Qualified candidates only.
  • PDCC in Liver Transplant Anaesthesia: 03 seats out of which one is sponsored seat.
  • PDCC in HPB Interventional Radiology: 03 seats out of which one is sponsored seat.
  • PDCC in Hepatopathology: 02 seats.
  • PDCC in Hepatic and Transplant Virology: 02 seats.
  • PDCC in Critical Care Medicine (with specialization in Liver Intensive care): 03 seats out of which one is sponsored seat.
  • PDCC in Abdominal Imaging: 03 seats out of which one is sponsored seat.
  • PDCC in Blood Banking & Immunohaematology: 02 seats.
  • PDCC in Advanced Diagnostic and Clinical Microbiology: 02 seats.
  • PDCC in Apheresis Technology: 02 seats.
  • PDCC in Cellular Transplant Immunology: 01 seat.
  • PGCC in Clinical Nutrition: 01 seat.
  • PGCC in Epidemiology of Viral Hepatitis and Liver Diseases: 01 seat.

  • Certificate course in Nephrology: 02 seats out of which one is sponsored seat.
  • Critical Care Certification Course: 02 seats.

Duration of the Courses

Duration of PDCC & PGCC courses will be one year and of certificate courses will be 06 months. PhD courses will be of 3-5 years duration.

Eligibility Requirements

  1. PhD Courses: The candidate must possess a master's degree in biological sciences including life sciences, zoology, biochemistry, biotechnology, microbiology or a professional degree like a master degree in medical or dental sciences, MBBS, M.V.Sc., M.Pharma, M.Tech., and related degrees with at least 60% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade as per UGC rules.
    In case of the NET/NEET qualified candidates, there is no need to appear in the written test. He/she may directly attend the interview or the departmental assessment conducted by the institute. However, in the case of non-NET/NEET candidates, they will have to in the written test followed by the interview or the departmental assessment.
  2. PDCC in Liver Transplant Anaesthesia: Candidate must have a degree in MD or DNB in Anaesthesia.
  3. PDCC in HPB Interventional Radiology: Candidate must have a degree in MD or DNB in Radiology.
  4. PDCC in Hepatopathology: Candidate must hold a degree in DNB or MD in Pathology.
  5. PDCC in Hepatic and Transplant Virology: Candidate must hold a degree in MD or DNB (Microbiology).
  6. PDCC in Critical Care Medicine (with specialization in Liver Intensive care): Candidate must hold a degree in MD or DNB (Medicine / Pulmonary Medicine / Anaesthesia).
  7. PDCC in Abdominal Imaging: Candidate must have a degree in MD / DNB (Radiology).
  8. PDCC in Blood Banking & Immunohaematology: Candidate must hold a degree in MD / DNB (Pathology / Laboratory Medicine).
  9. PDCC in Advanced Diagnostic and Clinical Microbiology: He/she should have MD or DNB in Microbiology.
  10. PDCC in Apheresis Technology: MD/DNB (Transfusion Medicine / Pathology / Laboratory Medicine).
  11. PDCC in Cellular Transplant Immunology: The candidate should have MD/DNB (Microbiology/Hematology) /PhD in Immunology degree.
  12. PGCC in Clinical Nutrition: Candidate must hold M.Sc. or MBBS degree.
  13. PGCC in Epidemiology of Viral Hepatitis and Liver Diseases: BAMS / BHMS / MBBS / BDS / B.Sc. Nursing or MSc Statistics.
  14. PGCC in Clinical Research in Liver Diseases: BAMS / BHMS / MBBS / BDS / B.Sc. Nursing / MSc Statistics.
  15. Certificate course in Nephrology: The candidate must hold an MBBS degree with 3 years experience.
  16. Critical Care Certification Course: The candidate must hold an MBBS degree with 1-year experience in Critical Care.

How to Apply

  • First, the candidate must visit the official website of the ILBS and check the eligibility and read all the instructions carefully. The official notification is also available on website of ILBS.
  • Application is to be filled and submit online. To apply online the candidates must visit Login Panel For Academics Appl.
  • The candidates will have to register himself on the portal by entering Name, Date of birth, Email, Gender, Mobile no. and a Password. After details submission, re-login the portal using user ID (registered email) and password.
    After log-in fill the required information and submit the application.

Note: The candidate who has already submitted their application against any previous advertisement need not apply again. They can log in using the same login credentials or can recover the password by forgot password option.

Application Fee: The candidate must submit an application fee along with the online application form through debit/credit cards/net-banking. There will be an application fee of INR 5000 for PDCC courses, INR 2500 for PGCC courses whereas for PhD courses INR 1000 application fee is to be submitted.

Admission Procedure

Candidates will be selected based on their performance in the all India entrance test. The Entrance Examination will be conducted in two shifts in the morning and evening. The NET/NEET Qualified candidates can directly appear in the online interview or departmental assessment. They are exempted from the entrance examination. While Non-NEET candidates will have to appear in the written test followed by online interview or departmental assessment.

Departmental Assessment/Online interview – 27.07.2020 (Monday) (10:00 AM onwards)
Start of Academic Session: 01 September 2020.
