TS ICET 2020 online registration – last date extended


Are you likely to enrol for an MBA or MCA program in one of the universities in Telangana State? Want to know what TS ICET is all about and what you have to do for appearing for this exam? All these and other details of TS ICET, including the last date have been provided in this article.

Telangana State Integrated Common Entrance Test (TS ICET) is a computer-based test (CBT) for admission to MBA and MCA courses in colleges across the state of Telangana. Kakatiya University, Warangal is the nodal agency that conducts this test on behalf of Telangana State Council of Education. Through TS ICET, one can take admission to any of the universities in Telangana and their affiliated colleges. The council has extended the dates for online registration. Now you can submit the application form until 15 July 2020 by paying a late fee of Rs 1000/-. The exam dates are, however, not yet declared. Let us learn here in detail about TS ICET and how you may apply for the same. Here are the important dates, to begin with.



Important dates - TS ICET 2020

  • Date of notification - 06 March 2020
  • Start date of online registration - 09 March 2020
  • Last date for submission without late fee - 10 June 2020
  • Last date for submission with a late fee of Rs 1000 - 15 July 2020 (Wednesday)
  • Dates for correction of online applications - 22 June to 27 June (5 pm)

All other dates for downloading of admit cards, exam dates, the release of preliminary answer keys, submission of objections, final key and results will be intimated by the educational council in due course of time. Students are thus advised to keep a track of the updates on a daily basis on the TS ICET website.

Eligibility criteria

  • The candidate should be an Indian national and should also satisfy the local/non-local status requirements of Telangana State.

  • For the MBA program, the required qualification is a bachelor degree of 3-years duration. Applicants for the MCA program should be graduates of BCA, B.Sc, B.Com or BA. Those with the BA degree should have passed mathematics in 10+2 or during graduation.

  • The candidates should have scored more than 50% marks in their qualifying exams. For SC/ST candidates the cut-off is 45%.

  • Those awaiting their final year results, may also apply

The test will be held simultaneously at 14 centres across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, and candidates may select the centre nearest to them. The names of the centres are as follows-

About the test

TS ICET is an online computer based test of objective type with 200 questions in all. Each question is of one mark and the total duration of the test is two and half-hours. The test has three sections. Section A is of 75 marks and tests the analytical or reasoning ability of the candidates. Section B is a mathematical ability test of 75 marks and Section C is communication ability of 50 marks. In communication ability, the candidates will be tested on grammar, reading & comprehension, vocabulary and business & computer terminologies. Exam timings

The test will be conducted in two shifts. Those who are in the morning shift are to appear from 9:30 am to 12 pm and for the candidates in the afternoon shift, from 3 pm to 5:30 pm.

Qualifying marks

The minimum qualifying marks for the test is 25%. The candidates need to score at least 50 marks out of 200. For SC/ST candidates there are no such minimum marks required for qualifying. Once the candidates qualify for the test, they will have to attend the counselling at a designated centre.

Mock test, if any

TS ICET provides for a mock test to the registered candidates. You can sign in to it by entering your login credentials.



How to apply

For applying for the TS ICET, the candidates need to visit the official website of TS ICET. The first step involves paying the application fees. On clicking the 'Application Fee Payment' tab at the website, it takes you to a page, where the necessary details of the candidate are to be entered. Other than details like name and date of birth, the candidate has to give the mobile number, email id and qualifying exam hall ticket number. After the details are submitted, proceed for the payment. The payment can be done online by using either debit card, credit card or net banking. Other than the above option, the payment can also be made through TSOnline and APOnline payment portals. Once your payment is successfully processed, proceed to the next step 'Fill Application Form'. To know whether the payment was successful or not, click the 'Payment Status' tab.

After the payment is accepted, you may fill-up the application almost immediately or at a later date and time by signing in again. While filling the application form, enter all necessary details and then click the 'preview' or 'submit' button. Before final submission, you can even modify the application by clicking on the 'modify' button. Once the application is finally submitted, download and take out a print out of the application receipt for future reference. During the filling of the application form, you will have to upload a passport photograph along with a signature of yours.   • For others - Rs 650
  • Late fee - Rs 1000

  • Credit or debit cards, in case you are going to pay through these options.
  • TS/APOnline transaction receipts, if you have paid by visiting a TS/AP Online centre
  • Hall Ticket or marks memo of your last qualifying exam
  • Date of birth certificate
  • A appropriate local candidate certificate, in case of locals
  • Caste certificate for those from the reserved categories
  • Special category certificates, if any, like NCC, Sports, CAP, PH, Anglo Indian, etc
  • Income certificate, for lower income groups
