About NABI
National Agri-Food Biotechnology Institute (NABI), Mohali is an autonomous Institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Govt. of India and first Agri-Food Biotechnology institute in India. It was established in 2010. In NABI, the core research areas are Agricultural Biotechnology, Food Biotechnology, Nutrition Biotechnology and Human Resource Development. The institute is working to develop biotechnological tools in the area of Agriculture, Food and Nutritional Biotechnology to improve the quality of food and nutrition. NABI is a recognized centre to conduct PhD (Biotechnology) from the Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB), Faridabad. NABI is offering admission in PhD Biotechnology and inviting applications. Duration of PhD Course: The duration of the PhD is 5 years which can be extended up to a maximum of 7 years.
Area of PhD Research Work: PhD Biotechnology research area includes Agri-Biotechnology, Food and Nutrition Biotechnology.
Number of Seats: 05 nos. There will be a reservation of seats as per Govt. of India rules.Eligibility criteria
Candidates those who have appeared, or will be appearing, in the final year or final semester of qualifying degree examination or whose results are awaited may also apply. Nevertheless, the candidate must fulfil the above criteria/requirements at the time of joining.
Fellowship: The PhD admission seekers will have to avail the fellowship from the different granting agencies like UGC, CSIR, ICMR, DST or DBT according to their policies and guidelines.How to apply
