Introduction
MES Engineering College is the first self-engineering college which was established in Kerala State and one of the first self-financing colleges under Muslim Minority status. Situated on the banks of Nila and Bharathapuzha, the college was established as minority status in the year 1994 and is affiliated to University of Calicut and recognized by APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University.. The campus is widely recognized as one of the premier institutions which gives technical education in the state. the college offers admission to all the categories with more focus on educationally backward communities. the nearest airport is Karippur which is 50km away from the college. college got accreditation and awarded ISO 9001:2008 certification for excellence in quality systems. As the Engineering College is under the Kerala Self Financing Management, the fees are as per the agreement between Association and the Kerala government. The fees once paid will not be refunded under any conditions. The entire engineering college is having a network of 1GBPS. All the work in the institution which includes the academic and non-academic ones, the library, and accounts are automated. The student details can be accessed from any teacher on the campus. The student's performance can be accessed by the parents through the website. The campus is Wi-Fi enabled and thus makes it easy for the students and the staff for accessing the internet. A leased line connection which is having 100 Mbps Bandwidth is enabled in the campus. For Engineering Courses
The candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala or any other exam which is equivalent and 50 per cent marks for Maths, Physics, Chemistry or Biology or Computer Science and 50 per cent marks separate for Maths put together will be eligible for admission. The students who have got 45 per cent marks separate for Maths and 45 per cent marks for Physics, Chemistry, Maths put together will be eligible for admission under the Management Quota. For SC and ST students a pass in the qualifying exam is needed for admission. For Architecture Course
Plus two exams passed from a recognized board with Maths as the main subject and must have scored a minimum of 50 per cent marks or Plus two and Diploma from any State or Central governments with 50 per cent marks as Maths as the main subject will be eligible for admission. The candidates who score minimum eligibility marks for National Aptitude Test will be considered for admission to the B.Arch course. There will not be any provision for a lateral entry during the five-year course of Architecture.Seat Allotments
The college is a Muslim Minority Educational Institution, and the management has the right to fill the seats directly. The agreement between the Kerala government 50 per cent of seats will be through Entrance Exam commissioner and the balance 50 per cent seats will be done through NRI seats which are filled as per the decision of the Management. The college offers a full exemption of tuition fee and special fee up to 10 per cent of management seats in each department branch and it will take from the merit list who are having 85 per cent and above in PCM subjects and the entrance rank must be up to 5000. For each branch 10 per cent of tuition fee will be given to the top students, where 5 per cent for Government quota and other 5 per cent for Muslim students under Management quota and the entrance ranks up to 10000.
