AICTE MBA PGDM Innovation Entrepreneurship and Venture Development course admissions 2020-22


Are you searching for Government MBA or Diploma courses for new entrepreneurs? Learn how to start a new business and launch a start-up through the unique AICTE Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Venture Development (IEV) course. You can either pursue an MBA-IEV or a Postgraduate Diploma in Management-IEV for this course, admission to which will be through a Common Entrance Test (CET). Details of the course curriculum, the institutes offering it, CET questions, and the application procedure have been provided.

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)'s Start-up Policy Implementation Unit New Delhi, in collaboration with MHRD's Innovation Cell, Govt. of India invites applications for admission to its unique MBA/PGDM in Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Venture Development (IEV) course for the academic year 2020-22. Admission to the course will be through a Common Entrance Test (CET).

About the course

The two-year IEV course, with two semesters in each year, is being offered at 15 AICTE-approved higher educational institutes in India. The full list of institutes is mentioned below, at each of which there are 30 seats.

What you will learn in the IEV course

The First year curriculum

First semester: The Foundation of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Management track will explain how to generate ideas and how to identify business opportunities, as well as training you to work on management skills.

Second semester: The Start-up Experiential Learning track will teach you how to create and develop an effective enterprise model with a detailed incubation residency learning program.



The Second year curriculum

First semester: There will be a more intense entrepreneurship session with venture planning, and understanding the modalities of making it grow on a national and international level.

Second semester: The final year is the start-up establishment track with Venture Establishment at Incubators/Accelerators, with a final project of setting up and running a start-up.

Eligibility requirements

You must be a Graduate in any discipline and it can be of any type of course, such as 10+2+3 or 10+2+4 or 10+3+3. Ideally, you should have been keen on building a career path as an entrepreneur with an enthusiasm for innovation and a zeal to operate and build a startup.

About the CET-IE

The Common Entrance Examination on Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CET-IE) 2020 is a Proctored online test scheduled for 5th September 2020, to be held on a national basis (proctored means that it will be monitored). The test will be for 90 minutes and you will be given 30 minutes for preparation. As of now, the test is tentatively scheduled to be held between 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 noon.

CET-IE questions

There will be a total of 150 questions in English only, all objective and multiple-choice questions that will be related entrepreneurship, IPR, startups, etc with five sections - Quantitative Aptitude/Business Mathematics; Awareness of Business/Start-up Affairs; Logical Reasoning & Data Interpretation; Reading Comprehension, and Psychometric Assessment.

The Admit Card can be obtained online at the official website after login, on 31st August 2020.



Note that the CET-IE is the basic qualifying exam. The institute where you seek admission will also conduct a Group Discussion (GD) and/or Personal Interview (PI) separately. The dates and times of the GD and PI will be displayed at the website of the institute. The results of the GD/PI will also be intimated to you after the announcement of the CET result. The entire admission process will be completed before 15th October 2020, by which date the academic classes will begin.

How to apply

Applications must be done online only through the official AICTE CET-IEV registration portal. You can select up to five institutes to take admission upon final selection.

The registration fee is also to be paid online. The fee is Rs.500/- for General category and male OBC category candidates, Rs.250/- for all female candidates, and Rs.250/- for SC, ST, EBC, and PWD category candidates.

Important dates

The online registration begins on 5th August 2020 and ends on 28th August 2020. The rest of the schedule is as follows-
  1. Issuance of the Admit Card for CET-IE: 31st August 2020.

  2. Online Mock Test will be available on 1st and 2nd September 2020.

  3. Final Online Test: 5th September 2020 (Saturday).

  4. Declaration of CET result and display of the list of eligible candidates for GD/PI: 10th Sept. 2020.

  5. Personal Interview by the respective institutes: 11th-15th Sept. 2020.

  6. Final Admission and start of the academic class: before 15th Oct. 2020.
