Introduction

Nehru College of Engineering and Research Centre is one of the Best Engineering Institutions which is situated on the banks of Nila. The college was established in the year 2002, founded by the chairman P.K Das, and is committed to providing quality education in the field of engineering and research. The college is affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam University and approved by the AICTE. The college has also got NAAC accreditation.

Facilities

The college is built on an eco-friendly campus having good infrastructure like labs, a library, a fitness centre and there are separate hostel facilities for boys and girls. Transportation is also provided from the college with more than 40 buses. There are five academic blocks situated on the campus - Bhaskara, Aryabhatta, Varahamihira, Brahmagupta, Kapila. Canteen facility is provided in the campus with an area of 18000 sq.ft in a three-storied building and has modern kitchen facilities. The college has modern gym facilities for catering to the needs of students and staff. The college has 24x7 ATM which functions at the main entrance and the ATM counter is also open to the general public.

Eligibility Criteria

For B.Tech Admission

Candidates must have passed the Higher Secondary Examination of Kerala or an exam which is equivalent with Maths and Physics as main subjects and chemistry as the optional subject and must have 45 per cent marks altogether in the above subjects. The candidate must have completed 17 years of age on 31st December and have at least minimum 10 marks in the Engineering Entrance Exam conducted by Govt of Kerala. The college can fill 15 per cent of seats in the NRI category by admitting qualified candidates. The different B. Tech Courses are as follows.

For M.Tech Admission

The M.Tech courses available are as follows.

Eligibility Criteria

  1. Candidates must be have Graduated from an institution which is recognized by AICTE or Deemed Universities.

  2. Aspiring candidate must be an Indian National.

  3. Applicant must have scored minimum 60 per cent marks in Engineering Degree examination. For SC and ST, applicant need only a pass in Engineering Course.

  4. Those who have passed AMIETE or AMIE examinations and satisfy these conditions will be eligible for admission.

  5. Candidate must have a valid GATE score.

  6. Minimum 55 per cent marks is needed in AMIE or AMIETE Examinations.

  7. Those who are in the final year of examination must submit marks up to the sixth semester and the selection of such candidates will be subject to producing original Qualifying degree certificate.

  8. Admission will be restricted through valid GATE score. For Management quota, this restriction is avoided.

For MCA Admission

Eligibility Criteria

  • 50 per cent of the seats will be allotted through the MCA Entrance Exam which is conducted by the LBS.

  • Minimum 3 years of Bachelor's Degree with Maths at plus two level or at Graduate level or B.Comwith Business Maths or Business Statistics and also must have minimum 50 per cent marks. For reserved categories 45 per cent of marks is needed.

  • Those who are opting for Lateral Entry, must have 3 years Bachelor's Degree in BCA or B.Sc IT or Computer Science with Maths as main subject in plus two or at Graduate level. Applicant must have scored minimum 50 per cent marks in the Qualifying Examination and 45 per cent marks for reserved category.

For MBA Admission

Candidates must have scored minimum 50 per cent marks in any Master's degree which is recognized from a University and must also have a valid CAT, CMAT or KMAT score for admission.
